Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Well, we do see Bardock's crew in Movie 1 (though I doubt it was Toriyama's decision to include them there). But yeah, it's a nice touch that both Toei and Toyotaro add these characters as an easter egg/cameo. Also, if it was up to Toriyama, I doubt Bardock would even be involved in this at all... ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

So wait is the Bardock thing true? I held my tongue about the whole Super Super Hero/ Broly thing.. I’m not sure I even want to know All we know is that Bardock is responsible for Granolah and Monaito surviving the Saiyan attack. Some people think Bardock will turn out to be Granolah’s father, but ...

Finally, since I know wrestling fans are in this thread: ALL EGO ETHAN VEGETA https://i.imgur.com/PLJoyez.png humor for the few people who would get this. I hate the fact that this was my first thought when I read that line. Been watching too much AEW. Didn't think anyone else would make that conne...

Re: The weak points of DBS & DBGT both involve Goku's immaturity

Why are you assuming he was the one who bought it? What you are talking about are very concrete issues - using a tool to farm, and the need to fix it. And what livelihood? Goku and his family don't need the money. They are able live isolated from civilization because they can hunt and fish for them...

Ok so I’m going to point out some stand out issues from the very first episode of each series. Super: In the first episode Goku kicks back and let’s Goten drive the tractor and of course is incredible irresponsible and borderline lazy. In a later scene we see Goku struggling to understand the amoun...

Re: The weak points of DBS & DBGT both involve Goku's immaturity

That's not stupid. Time is something that has great effect on his everyday life. Money doesn't. He has no need for it. If he gets 1 million zeni, knowing what that means would mean he understands relative prices but since he doesn't want for anything he can't get on his own, that carries no weight ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Toppo became taller and much more muscular in the anime, and gained those weird chest marks, so Vegeta’s design is not inspired by it. But the idea behind God of Destruction being a transformation is there and the mentality required to achieve it is the same in both the anime and manga (to focus on...

If he was awake to deal with threats Universe 7 would be the supreme universe.😂 This right here is the best/worst part of this. All the woes of universe 7 are basically entirely surrounded by Beerus being incompetent and just out for his own amusement. In universe, I hate everything about that. Alt...

Dragon Ball Super Manga: Chapter 30: The Man Called Jiren. Pages 12 & 13. Indicates there are clear roles and duties Hakaishin are expected to perform and their universes are ranked accordingly. Maybe you should re-read it and next time bring receipts before claiming: “The gods of destruction d...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I strongly encourage you to re-read the manga. The gods of destruction do not destroy to keep some sense of balance, or other nebulous things. They do it because they feel like it. That is the balance. Zamasu was bad because he was destroying for ideological reasons, which is the opposite of entrop...

While Vegeta is training for a job he wouldn't even be good at and then forced to wonder the universe alone with Whis and away from his family which Vegeta already had issues with leaving his family to train, let alone forever. I'm not sure if you're referring to the manga, because Vegeta never sho...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Piccolo and especially Kami care about maintaining order on a wider scale. It was made expressly clear that Zamasu was a bad god because he cared about this stuff too. A god of destruction is a force of chaos, not someone who goes around wiping out specific worlds to maintain some unknowable arbitr...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Gonna have to disagree. Piccolo isn't really suited for Destruction. Maybe he used to be but definetly not anymore. Ever since he fused with Kami atleast, he's been more mellow and wise. Some Namekian God form or something from the Namekian Book of Legends would be cool. Or Like How this arc mentio...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I'll make a neutral observation: Vegeta gaining God of Destruction powers feels uncharacteristic of Toriyama. Considering how in-line it is with the fandom's wishes, it comes across as a predictable development, one I wouldn't doubt was suggested by Toyotarou, who generally seems very in-touch with...
