Re: Could we agree with a model for Dragon Ball?
Piccolo's statement is a bad point to use because at the time Goku was suffering from the heart virus. That is why he couldn't output his full power against the androids. The issue with what you're suggesting is that the characters know when another character is using full power or not. Piccolo's s...

Re: Could we agree with a model for Dragon Ball?
Strength is pretty much synonymous with Ki though. By increasing your physical power you increase your Ki, Goku states this in the RoSaT. On the opposite side of this increasing Ki will always increase strength too. Just increasing Ki is the safest way to go about increasing your physical strength ...

Could we agree with a model for Dragon Ball?
Where characters have attributes like strength, speed and stamina, with strength being the primary attribute that is being measured? I'll explain why in the context of Graded SSJ transformations, but let's also address one problem with power: it's being used instead of strength when it could also me...

Re: Toriyama's Statement On the SSJ Multiplier.
This is why authors work in tandem with the editors, to keep things consistent, and it should inspire us to do the same as fans. There's so much material that is taken for granted that keeps Dragon Ball inconsistent with itself... Suddenly, I don't think the Daizenshuu and the other guides are that ...

Re: Were Fusions just a pointless addition to the franchise?
Without actually looking at the events that took place, I think the concept of fusion is great. It allowed names and neat costumes to be made with a new character template for the series. As a fan, I only need to pick up two fighters whose names give a funky result, and merge their looks for an inte...

Re: Is Vegito vastly superior to Gogeta or only slightly?
Look, I know that with Dragon Ball we can appeal to things not making much sense, and having its own rules, clinging to feats and statements without understanding, and taking them at face value to determine the winner, but you can't change rules of nature. Just like wind, as a constant, someone who ...

Re: Is Vegito vastly superior to Gogeta or only slightly?
No, actually, in a low gravity environment, it would take less power for Vegeta to deliver the same punch, which means he is free to deliver even stronger ones, or move faster. Trunks benefits from gravity not affecting him as much, but without it, he still doesn't carry that much of a punch. He wou...

Re: Is Vegito vastly superior to Gogeta or only slightly?
I really wish the Daizenshuu didn't exist... It's as if people reverse engineer their logic because of one "official" statement made by editors, no matter if under Akira Toriyama's supervision, however little. It's as if I predict the outcome of the arguments... xD Sure thing, Darkprince....

Re: Is Vegito vastly superior to Gogeta or only slightly?
Oh please, not this argument again... Trunks has less mass than Vegeta, which in a gravity room makes all the difference. While Trunks is allowed to move fast, Vegeta packs quite a punch and only gets scratched. As for Goten... Gohan meant exactly what he said: if he's not careful, the boys are goin...

Re: Would you like Future Trunks to return in DBS?
There should have been two future Cells. One is killed by Trunks as he arrives from the past where Gohan killed the other. This other would kill Trunks afterwards and travel back in time to face Gohan (and be killed), completing the cycle. No Trunks in the future, which would be a pretty grim ending...

Re: SSJ2: Is it more than just an upgrade of SSJ1?
If Kaioshin's ability to paralyze SSJ2 Gohan is part of telekinesis, then it's not possible for him to resist that. However, I do have a theory on why SSJ2 Gohan wasn't immune to Kaioshin's paralyzing ability. SSJ2 and SSJ3 require a certain amount of Ki from the user, and if Ki amount (or Power, as...

Re: Is really base BoGs Goku weaker than Namek saga 100% Fre
Dragon Ball hasn't been inconsistent with power and strength though. Power has always been tied to strength, with ki increases always being associated with an increase in strength. The only way that Vegeta's comment towards Goku's increase would work is if he's saying Goku's strength/power (again, ...

Re: Is really base BoGs Goku weaker than Namek saga 100% Fre
Why are you thinking that they need to be doubled or more? Goku's just that strong because his base is just that much higher than Vegeta's, so that while Vegeta's using a form that may push past the 50x multiplier of Super Saiya-jin (and, by extension, FpSsj) he's still that much weaker than Goku. ...

Re: Is really base BoGs Goku weaker than Namek saga 100% Fre
Nevertheless, if you have Vegeta at 960 million for his Ssj 2nd Grade form, then Goku should still be around twice that, not simply 1.25x stronger. It's one of the few post-battle power time periods when we're given a somewhat specific mention of how much stronger one person is over the other, so i...

Re: Is really base BoGs Goku weaker than Namek saga 100% Fre
Darkprince, those numbers are outdated. Check the Battle Powers Thread for the current ones. The problem remains though, but don't take "half his power" so strictly, because it's not 600. What took Goku to that 1'200'000k was an increase of 1.25 over his previous 960 (in the RoSaT), while ...

Re: The Official Unofficial Power Levels Thread
Ok, I've corrected them. Are they better? The problem is one implication that Vegeta didn't gain strength from his Majin seal. It's a small trade off for more consistent numbers.

Re: The Official Unofficial Power Levels Thread
As promised, I'm going to make a battle power list (yes, I know. Another one...), but this time following some rules. They'll start at Namek with the Freeza battle, and move towards the Cell saga, ending with Babidi as a revision of everything before it. The increases will consist of 1.25 and 1.6 ti...

Yeah, I know. That's why I said that corrections are going to be made. When I'm lazy, I just lump close characters together.

Re: Is really base BoGs Goku weaker than Namek saga 100% Fre
I have to make some corrections to that list, but I'll do it in the Battle Powers' thread. The rules will be the same: increases of 1.25, 1.6 and 2, following that order with different starting points.
