Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Still, as you said, Toriyama really is the only one who can nail down Dragon Ball. I wished he could have written himself, in detail, how Goku achieves Ultra Instinct in the tournament. Which kind of baffles me when people say Goku has "mastered" Omen. With the lessons he learned in the T...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Esca becomes the new guardian of Earth, and Dende fuses with Piccolo. I would have predicted this if the spirit fission technique wasn't in Moro's endless arsenal of moves. I actually really like idea of Dende fusing with Piccolo. Though I really like Dende so I'd hate to see him go. But I could de...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Am I the only one that thinks Moro's abilities he got from 73 now being permanent because reasons...is fucking dumb? I thought it's only his own ability that's permanent (the backup he left in 73), but not the one he copies from other fighters (like from Vegeta or Piccolo) Correct me if I'm wrong. ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Am I the only one that thinks Moro's abilities he got from 73 now being permanent because reasons...is fucking dumb? I want to like the manga. And I've found Moro slowly growing on me. Not much, but moreso than he was. And I'm sorry to sound like a broken record, but this writing is seriously crap. ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

This would be OK if it wasn't Freeza, one of the franchise's greatest villains. If you want a story where the villain isn't that big of a threat, then introduce someone new who fits that idea, not Freeza. The other issue is that it was following BOG. If you're going to follow up such a great movie,...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

The Pilaf gang should've been removed, I'll give you that, but that's honestly the only negative I can think of. That may be enough to take away from what the movie does, which is fine, but it doesn't for me. I agree he was treated bad before RF, but the difference is that most of those were Toei o...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Battle of Gods and Broly are easily the best stories in all of modern Dragon Ball. It's no coincidence that Toriyama wrote them. BOG is a masterpiece, no arguments there, but Broly ? It included minus, one of the worst things to have the DB name, it turned Freeza into a joke, Broly's character was ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Yeah, I'm really not seeing that? Vegeta got knocked around some by literally THAT Moro that you're saying he backed up into 7-3, but he was fine??? He power drained THAT Moro and dunked on him. He was holding his own against a UI Omen+ level opponent and then you're saying add ssj3, maybe, level o...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

No, that happened for other characters observing Vegeta. You understand that other people believing Vegeta did enough to redeem himself doesn't mean Vegeta thinks that, right? You do realize Goku telling him that he was revived by Porunga because Porunga considered him good isn't just magically goi...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I am genuinely envious of anyone who can actually feel enjoyment out of this arc. Really. I am. I am exhausted reading this arc just because of how little I care about anything going on. It's reaching fanfiction levels paralleling Super Dragon Ball Heroes now and I don't even know or care how it wil...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Goku was consistently screaming and powering up while in UI Omen. I fail to see why people keep saying stuff like "Toyotarou doesn't understand the principle of this form of this form" when Toei was the very first to butcher the form concept. Goku was consistently speaking, screaming, pow...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Omen wasn't stronger than Moro. Moro was stronger the entire time. I have a feeling that Toyotaro doesn't understand UI at all. The way he writes Goku when he's using it, both based on how expressive and chatty he is, and now just turning UI into an all out brawler form like SSB is supposed to be......

It's by definition impossible to not bring personal feelings and bias into the equation when it comes to art. Art is by its very natural personal and emotional. I'm not really the type to call film and television "art", so maybe that's why I don't think of them so subjectively. Where do y...

Favorite "non-climax" fight

When I say non-climax, I mean none of the big tentpole battles of the franchise like Goku vs Frieza, Gohan vs Cell, basically the big battles of the franchise that the arc wasn't building to. And why is this battle a favorite? This doesn't have to be limited to just any of the in-series or canon fig...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

What seems really stupid is to keep bringing stronger than GoDs characters and have Beerus fishing like he is too cool for school. This is the 3rd enemy that is said to have surpassed the GoDs. He couldn't take part vs Jiren, ok; Broly's growth was gradual so it was okay for him to not take it seri...
