Re: Re-dubbed dialogue on the original VHS tapes.
If you're referring to season 3, certain lines were re-dubbed for content. I know one was Vegeta saying "I'm a friggin' genius!". I think Ginyu had some redubbed lines as well.

Isn't France one of the few countries that actually airs anime films in mainstream theaters? I know Sailor Moon R had a theatrical release in France too...

Re: Awesome Dragonball advertisement/commercials
I always liked the Toonami commercials for the first three Dragon Ball Z films. Movie 2 was the best, they even used sound clips from the Japanese release.

Re: Why is Toei reanimating Sailor Moon but not DBZ?
With the talk of Swedish dub, did they do name changes or did they keep the original Japanese names for the characters. Funny enough, Sailor Moon was one of the first North American dubs where the names (of the important main characters) were close enough to the original or related in some pun for ...

Re: Why is Toei reanimating Sailor Moon but not DBZ?
Yeah, we (Portugal) got Sailor Moon straight from Japan back then. Mind you, the dub was terrible for a multitude of reasons, but translating from another dub was not one of them. I can confirm it was dubbed based on English translations provided by Toei (I know a guy who worked on a recent Polish ...

Re: Why is Toei reanimating Sailor Moon but not DBZ?
So basically, what I'm trying to say is... Toei animation suck. What's a shame is that they create such wonderful series with great staff, but they always seem to cut corners compared to other companies. No matter what decade it is. Anyway, I'm surprise someone is actually upset Sailor ...

Re: Cartoons with home media releases worse than Dragon Ball
ADV's release for Sailor Moon back in the day was pretty terrible. Really awful picture and video, missing episode, missing episode previews, wrong opening used for episode 89.

Re: Bad voice acting in the Japanese version?
I'm another for Yanami as Babidi. The thing that irked me is that he uses the same voice for all his characters. It's annoying when yet another character sounds exactly like Kaiou-sama and the narrator.

That's surprising for such a huge series! I thought for sure the week before would've advertised "next is the final chapter!" or something. Meh.

Re: Here is the Real Story of Dragonball Fansubs...
I had fansubs for movies 12 and 13 back in the day. Yes the infamous "F-Bomb" fansub. I remember buying them for about 12 bucks at some flea market in South Jersey.

Nice find! I have some old anime magazine from before Dragon Ball came to the states. It used the worst romanizations you can think of.
"Ladittsu" for example. Haha.

Re: Italian Dub of Kai: CONFIRMED......as in it won't happen
Uncut my ass. I've heard from nineko that one DB episode had so much cut out of it that it ended up less than 20 minutes long. As far as I know Dragon Ball Z's dub is virtually uncut - with the exception of deleted vocal songs (which is Toei's fault) and some minor stuff. The only major edit I reca...

Thanks for the pictures! Ha, I see myself in the crowd in one. I don't remember the guy in the Piccolo costume.
I forgot about him not wanting pictures being taken, I just remember he wouldn't do autographs (which isn't surprising at all). The said kid also won that big prize of Dragon Ball Z DVDs.

Which doesn't make sense, since they let "hell" pass by. They left in graffiti that said "Mr. Satan" though.

Re: Nicktoons to start showing Dragon Ball Z Movies Septembe
Hmm, odd. They edited the shit out of movie 9. Just some edits off the top of my head - they created a split screen to avoid showing Goku punching Bojack in the face. Also they didn't really show Bojack getting killed. What the Hell?! In movie 12 everything was uncut except for the Hitler scenes. O...

Shonen Jump Launch Party
I think it was back in 2003, and Akira Toriyama was the guest of honor. I was 13 at the time I met him, Chris Sabat, and Laura Bailey. He answered a group of questions (I got to ask whatever happened to Lunch) and drew Goku flying over the Empire State Building. They had a giveaway for a bunch of DV...

Re: Masako Nozawa second best seiyuu in Japan.
It's one of the better "Top" lists I've seen in regards to anime. They seemed to be a nice mix or new school and old school actors. I was pleased as punch to see Kazuko Sugiyama on the list. So wait... did they just list a random character they voiced, or were those the characters people t...
