I really doubt Mai is dead. It would be a waste of a character, not to mention her defeat at the hands of Black didn't speak out "death scene" as opposed to Bulma's obvious demise. She's merely unconscious.

I thought the idea of the West Kaioshin deciding to turn against the universe after feeling betrayed by the East Kaioshin and feeling as though power was the key for everything, thus creating Xicor was a good idea. We could've done without the whole Freeza bit.

That was the most random and stupidest plot point in the story.

I still prefer Toriyama's old style of refraining from drawing his characters scrawny. I understand he did at times in the manga, but nowadays, it seems a tad bit excessive.

Based on how Black seems to have some affiliation with the Kaioshin, it's safe to say that he is, in a sense, Xicor implemented in the actual canon story; just with his story revised and appearance change. Not that I have a problem with that. Xicor was probably the only interesting thing to come out...
