Re: Dragon Ball and "Feminism"

I advocate freedom as well. Freedom from what? Physical force. Social pressure isn't force. To have freedom means people will inevitably hold ideas you don't agree with. I agree! But imagine the situation: Author: “Hmmm... I will resign from this idea, because I don't want to be bashed in mainstrea...

Re: Dragon Ball and "Feminism"

*snip* My point was simple. Don't use censorship in any form. Allow people to do everything, what does not lead to crime / breaking the law. With lies in mass media, I meant what they did in my country during the communist times. People had learned to think critically and now it's not that easy to ...

Re: Dragon Ball and "Feminism"

Remember when the Nazis and other oppressive state regimes trampled citizens' rights by congratulating popular media for including more positive portrayals of women? What propaganda has to do with censorship? I would say it was good, because lies spreaded by mass media forced people to think by the...

Re: Dragon Ball and "Feminism"

I think Dragon Ball is making terrific strides in terms of womens' issues. Kale and Caulifla are exactly what the franchise needs to get into the 21st century and they are redeeming for how horribly Toei treated Chi-Chi in filler. What exactly do you mean by "getting the franchise into the 21s...

Re: Pioneer Laserdisc question

Point is, the results are too wildly different to get anything useful out of the ABX tests you can find online currently. I've seen people on both sides of this argument use ABX tests to aid their arguments. Kojiro and I have already discussed this, and come to the conclusion that neither of us wil...

Re: Pioneer Laserdisc question

That's exactly the point I'm making. You can't measure the perceptions of anyone other than yourself. Normally I side with the facts, but audio is a very analogue thing, and is entirely based on peoples' individual perception of it, so it's not something that can really be quantified scientifically...

Re: Dragon Ball and "Feminism"

Kojiro, you're way out of line and making absurd comparisons (equating jokes and rape scenes in war films is your latest example). Enough is enough out of you specifically, and to everyone: the topic at hand, please. The point was: If they show rape scenes in movies, why General Blue's behaviour sh...

Re: Dragon Ball and "Feminism"

Your opening statement was about 'leftwing crazies' who wanna decapitate Europe. Study some Islam and political science. (...) accuse of literally the insane and worst, insult, throw in all the rightwing soundbites, memes (...) I have my reasons to do so. I am always called fascist, rascist, xenoph...

Re: Dragon Ball and "Feminism"

I have a couple of questions and opinions. We're living in a world where two people just lost their lives (and another was severely wounded) to a white supremacist in Oregon shouting and threatening Muslim women on a train. This person believes his terrorism to be "patriotism". In Europe, ...

Re: Dragon Ball and "Feminism"

This is all leftist craziness. Going with that logic, any single minority could request 50% representation everywhere. They could accuse everything of discrimination. That makes completely no sense. I advocate for freedom. Author is a god. If he wants 9 male characters and 1 female character in his ...

Re: Your opinion of Norihito Sumitomo

I personally believe that a score should hold meaning, and become memorable. Look at bardocks death, the dark chorus, the soft strings, creating a somber mood. This song is iconic with this scene, even though the piece itself originated in the 3rd movie. ( https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vC3gPlu33Gg ...

Re: Better Sound Quality for Original DBZ?

That 'UK source' isn't real. I've found some samples of this “UK source” audio in the internet. This looks like Tokai source with fake frequency range above 11kHz. This artificial information adds harsh, jarring and nasty artifacting. It degrades the sound more than it improves it. I have no idea, ...

Re: Pioneer Laserdisc question

The HD Funimation transfer is open matte for the DB films, and for the DBZ films it's cropped from an Open Matte transfer (but still mostly shows more image than the Dragon Boxes all around). In the case of Curse of the Blood Rubies, the loss of image in the sides is minimal, but you get a huge inc...

Re: What made you switch over to the Japanese version?

Nothing :D It just happened. I watched the show for the first time in full-Japanese* sometime between 2006-2009 and it just replaced the series I had in my mind (the French dub). Performances were brilliant, voices were perfectly chosen for their roles, watching episode after episode made me like, e...

I'm an audiophile with expensive headphones. You still haven't posted what equipment do you use :P Every test I've heard of that's tried to investigate this has turned up different results. Re: Pioneer Laserdisc question

What I'm arguing is that loads of people say they can hear the difference. Many audiophiles claim to hear BIG difference between speaker cables, which are proven to not indroduce any changes in the audio signal. What people say cannot be considered fact without proper research. I remeber one discus...

Re: Pioneer Laserdisc question

But, to people with good ears and expensive audio setups, the difference is noticeable. Science proves the opposite. In ABX tests, ultra-audiophiles and other audio enthusiasts, including musicians, were unable to tell the difference between properly encoded MP3 320kbps stereo and original uncompre...
