Re: The Chōzenshū databook thread: speculation, discussion,
What’s likely is that it’ll have updates on some Daizenshuu information, perhaps now that Toriyama’s back in involvement with the franchise with this new film. Maybe some new interviews with him and/or the voice actors from the DB/Z/GT anime. They might fix a couple of mistakes and/or inconsistencie...

Re: The Black Mercy of Dragon Ball Characters
I was thinking about Gohan's and I was going to say like books and test but I don't know if he really loves studying or it's just something he's good at or something he feels obligated to do (Chi-Chi brainwashing). So I guess the same world but with less death but still some badguys for him to deal...

Re: Kuririn: The Main Deuteragonist of the Series?
Oh, I also forgot to mention that, despite being treated as Toei's perennial butt-monkey (yes, even moreso than Yamcha, since he, along with Tenshinhan, only appears in two films - DBZ Movie #3 and #9 ) throughout, he's, like, the only character to appear in all of the DBZ films. That's even when fr...

Re: The Black Mercy of Dragon Ball Characters
Vegeta's would be a new Saiyan Empire on Earth where Gokuu, Gohan and Freeza are his personal slaves, and Blooma and Chi-Chi are his personal sex slaves. Nappa would be his second-in-command, while Raditz would be his third-in-command. Kuririn, nicknamed "The Dome-Headed Dwarf", would be h...

Re: Kid Piccolo's power
I'd imagine Daimao's knowledge would help quite a bit, yeah. I suppose we could also say that his experience with his own dormant power could be why he was so confident about being able to bring Gohan's out within a year, but that could just be me reading more deeply into it than the author did. Pe...

Re: Did Freeza train?
With his 3rd, it seemed to be a "rare" form, since he mentions the Z-warriors are the first to see it--and with his final form, he just wanted them to watch the transformation. I might be looking into it a bit much, since we don't have much else for reference--but I always took his dialog...

Re: What is Karin?
I think the Daizenshuu said that the Saiyans would've been too unstable to have a god, and would've probably killed him anyway. Or something like that. It seems the closest the Saiyans ever had to a god was the legendary Super Saiyan. (Maybe that's why, in the Viz version of the manga, Vegeta descr...

Re: Did Freeza train?
I don’t believe so. Like the Ginyuu Tokusentai, I think that Freeza was a mutant of his race gifted with extraordinary power at his birth that may’ve increased over time with age. He might’ve trained a bit with his father, Great King Kold, when he was a child. If we compare him to Coola, perhaps he ...

Kuririn: The Main Deuteragonist of the Series?
Don't you think that Kuririn is practically the main deuteragonist of the series, even after characters such as Gohan and Vegeta were introduced? I mean, he's basically been there from the beginning, he's the main character's best friend and first schoolmate, seems to get the most character developm...

Re: What is Karin?
So, wait, does every planet with sapient life have a guardian and the resultant assistants? Like, did planet Vegeta have a guardian? I think the Daizenshuu said that the Saiyans would've been too unstable to have a god, and would've probably killed him anyway. Or something like that. It seems the c...

Re: What is Karin?
I think I remember someone here comparing Karin's role being akin to God's bodyguard. But yeah, like Mr. Popo, he's from the afterlife and was sent down to Earth to assist its god.
Now, another question: was Karin named after the tower, or did he name the tower after himself?

Re: Post-RoSaT SSJG2 Goku vs Perfect Cell
We're talking about SSG2 (Super Saiyan Grade II), not SS2 (Super Saiyan 2).penguintruth wrote:Well, Gohan beat Cell when he was a SSJ2, so reasoning posits that Goku would do the same at SSJ2.

Re: Post-RoSaT SSJG2 Goku vs Perfect Cell
I, personally, think the capability for the 'Grade' forms is lost entirely once you master Super Saiyan, and is replaced with the capacity for a proper Super Saiyan 2 instead. So for Goku, Grade 2 wouldn't even be an option during the Cell Games. But otherwise... I agree with Bussani practically wo...

Re: Tenshinhan's absence at the 25th TB
Yeah, Tenshinhan's not really a sociable person. Still, though, if Gohan or someone else were able to locate him, I don't doubt that he'd pop in to the 25th TB at least for a brief period of time, to see his friend and former rival that he hasn't seen in seven years, and as far as he or anyone else ...

Re: Why is Bardock's voice high pitched in Japanese?
Sure. He pulled off a young Vegeta, didn't he? Acting is acting. I don't know whether or not you're joking, but IIRC, Chris Sabat's kid Vegeta in the Bardock special was god-awful. Laura Bailey's kid Vegeta was much better (as well as lacking that horrible rasp) in that hallucination of Gokuu's dur...

Re: Raditz's Body
I'd imagine that, off-screen, either Kuririn or Kame-sennin just blew it up, or dug him a grave and put him in it (like what Kuririn was planning to do with Vegeta when he thought he was dead). They wouldn't just leave his dead body there for someone to potentially find and analyze, like with the Sa...

Re: Tailless Son Goku
Gokuu might be stronger with his tail in the sense that he might be able to access more of his dormant power through Oozaru...but that's just a theory. I think the reason that he seemed stronger against Giran after he regrew his tail in the nick of time (being unable to break out of his gum attack, ...

Tenshinhan was never told about the 25th TB, because no-one apparently knew where he was.
