Re: I've created a guide to the continuities of Dragon Ball
I do like to imagine that Z movie 13 took place in the original anime timeline, for instance, but there's no references to it, no actual following-up from it, no ties to anything. You mean aside from the Dragon Fist/Ryuken technique featuring pretty heavily in GT? I forgot Z movie 13 is one of the ...

Re: Thinking of giving up Dragon Ball
I don't really get the whole selling merchandise stance. Sure, if you've only been involved in a franchise for a relatively short amount of time I could understand, but Dragon Ball is an entity that's been a part of a lot people's lives for literally decades at this point, from childhood to adulthoo...

My views mirror Kunzait's on the previous page, I think he pretty much nailed everything.
DBZ Movie 1 will always be top pick for me.

Re: Vic Mignogna
This thread is a complete shitshow and shouldn't be on this forum at all. Why the admins have allowed it to stay, I have no clue. For me, it has really dampened the perceived integrity of this place. Any value this thread could have provided disappeared as soon as politics and other frivolous intern...

Daman Mills is killing it.
If (god forbid) anything should happen to Chris Ayres it's good to know Freeza is in safe hands.

Re: Best looking Episodes in the Series
While it isn't from an "art direction" perspective, I'd like to vouch for the entire 36mm block on Namek for this. It just looks GORGEOUS on the Kai Blu-Rays: Oh yeah, absolutely. It's always a joy reaching those handful of episodes for that reason alone. https://i.imgur.com/LSfvkNa.png

Best looking Episodes in the Series
We all the know the art in the anime has been a mixed bag since 1986, but what episodes/animation directors stand out to you the most from the main series? I'll start with my personal favorite. DBZ Episode 120 Animation Supervisor: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru Possibly the most consistent looking episode in...

Disgraceful. I'd rather not think about they will do to the main series now, christ.

Re: What Dragon Ball content is available on iTunes Japan?
Dragon '98 Special Live by Monolith Budokai 1&2 OST Budokai 3 OST Makafushigi Adventure! 2005 And a bunch of covers and Super stuff. It's kind of interesting how all 3 Budokai OSTs are still available for purchase not just on the JP store, but also the US. Given the removal of said music from t...

Re: All Systems Goku (Giant Bomb side podcast)
New episode is up covering the Majin Vegeta vs Goku fight: https://www.giantbomb.com/podcasts/all-systems-goku-25/1600-2504/ Unsurprisingly they loved the fight and the way Vegeta's character was handled by not being a complete drone/puppet to Babidi by maintaining control of his personality and des...

Re: Why doesn't Kageyama do the OPs for Dragon Ball series/games anymore?
In an interview in France (maybe 2/3 years ago), Kageyama said that Kenji Yamamoto was his best friend to date. The firing of Kenji Yamamoto killed any chance for Kageyama to come back anyway. Got a link to that interview? Pretty curious. :) Look at the beginning, how happy he's speaking of him (en...

Re: Do you believe Nadolny would’ve improved if she came back?
I think she probably would have. Plenty of other actors showed vast, vast improvement under Sabat's new style of directing as of the Kai era, so I feel like she probably would have as well, same with Vollmer. It's a shame she at least can't get cast in some other shows or something, when the grand ...

Re: Do you believe Nadolny would’ve improved if she came back?
She had 10 years to improve (99-09) as Gohan but never did. In fact, some would argue she actually got worse as time went on. That and her many arrests most likely made it impossible for her to come back.
Still have a softspot for her Goku though. She does an acceptable job in that role.

Re: General Yamamoto Rip off thread
So I was listening to some of Yamamoto's tracks in Yu Yu Hakusho and came across this cool instrumental that he did and noticed straight away that he reused some of the elements of this track for both Cell's theme and Vegeta's theme in Butoden 2! The sound effect right at the beginning (the PSHHHHHH...
