And to be frank, stakes have become meaningless in DB as a whole for years. I think the last time we got actual serious stakes was with King Piccolo since there was no Dragon Balls to wish all the bad things away. Or The Shadow Dragon Arc in GT if you want to count anime only plotlines.

Xenoverse 2 feels more like an improved re-release of the original than a straight up sequel tho. Besides, the Budokai games are all part of the same series but have little to do with each other in terms of continuity.

Considering that every DB game to date is on its own self-contained continuity, I'm struggling why is so hard to accept that UMX is on a separate continuity than SBDH (and most likely it will extend to the anime as well).

Thing is, arguing about power levels (as in who's stronger) is a pointless endeavor in this series since that will come down to whatever story the writers want to tell. Indulging in that kind of arguments it always ends devolving into slap fights that don't allow for actual discussion to have.

People are already using that same argument every time the Heroes anime gets brought up and always ends up with the SSB is way stronger than SSJ4 nonsense. So it will only get worse.
