Which, amusingly enough, is a practice Bandai is now managing to confuzzle people in the US with! Jakks Pacific has liscenced Bandai's "Ultimate Figure Series," and is bringing them over with what might be considered a certain amount of laziness, or '99 sub-only-fan cool (hey, I was there ...

We know it's at least the current placeholder for the game in EB stores...largely 'cuz only the real deal would promise you something as meager as a @#$%ing card for pre-ordering. >_<

Coola's ultimate, "Supernova," has a particularly nice 'giant explosion viewed from space' look. Haven't seen Yi Xing Long's ultimate, yet, so I can't compare it to that. Also, is 'Omega Shenron's' voice like that in the dub too, with the freaky distortion? That's kinda neat, in a very &qu...

Well, I mean, look at Goku's face, it's entirely NOT from Toei or Bird Studios or anyone, much like the US's Budokai 1 cover -_-;;

If anything, it reminds me of whatever idiot Funimation got to do the Movie 7 cover. Gahhh, as if I needed another reason to mod my PS2....

Sadly, the time when a game is "finished" is rarely determined by the people programming it. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts (whatever the hell THAT means..) that DIMPS was working to add some of this to the game, but the release date imposed by Atari for the NA release means they had to scra...

Broli. He just manages to overstay his welcome by two whole movies, and that's inexcusable. Slug is a worthless retread of Piccolo Daimo/Ma Junior, but he's worthless for 40 minutes or so. After Broli's first, 80-minute appearance in which the Z Fighters take him on for pretty much an entire movie (...

Yeah, the Holy Water at Kami's lookout (sadly used again in GT, as well as in the Garlic Jr. DBZ filler) is entirely made up by Toei.

There was a period in time when DB info was scarce and confusing and contradictory...much like people talk about DBAF these days. This sounds like a relic from an earlier era...unless it pertains to one of the foreign language dubs, maybe, but that seems pretty unlikely too.

Well, Bulma is REALLY bored at this point. So, I imagine that explains the reason for making a frog translator. As for her ability to do so, it's pretty well established that Bulma is a genius, at least when it comes to mechanical engineering and robotics, so no big fowl there.

I've always thought that Sand Land's pacing cried out for it to be made into a film. It works great if you sit and read it in a single sitting. So much so, that I found it too boring when Shonen Jump but it out a one chapter per month, it just broke the pacing down to total crap.

Beat the game. It IS pretty short, but once you finish you can play again as Kuririn (horribly romanized as Kulylin), which is pretty cool. He has the Taio-ken instead of a giant Nyoibo spin for his L button attack, and unlike Goku, he can combo in the air (Goku only swings his Nyoibo once when you ...

The whole plot could be like Back To The Future Part 2, 'cuz the Tiger does all this stuff to save the Z Fighters while never actually running into them! Why? Because he's afraid they'll send him back to Earth, and the Z Fighters would fail if not for the unseen efforts of Sabertooth Tiger! He's the...

Actually, for Toriyama, the SSJ thing was one of his few really good jobs at building up an idea rather than just springing it on the reader and then hastily explaining it. Also, in the manga, do they ever talk about the SSJ appearing only once every 1000 years or whatever like they do in the series...

I just started playing it, and not only does Goku yelp as he attacks (no cry for the Kamehameha, tho), but it opens with a nice GBA-synth'd Makafushigi Adventure. The in-game songs are random synth, so I figured that was all we were getting in terms of DB music. But I just fought in the Tenkaichi Bu...

Absolutely agree with EX. Sonny Strait went from pretty annoying to a pleasure to listen to real quick. Though, Sean Schemmel, whom I wholly disliked at the beginning of season 3, has had some absolutely great 'Goku' moments here and there, most recently in Budokai 2, where his interactions with the...

I tend to end up using my PS2 for most of my DVD watchin' (as my DVD player is in the living room, and no one else in family usually wants to watch DB stuff), and if you push the [] button to get to the root menu it will bypass all Funi trailers on their DVDs.

Wukong comes as pretty much the smartest member of his group, and easily the most powerful. The only places his knowledge seems particularly lacking is in matters of Buddhism, then he has to go get a god/spirit/someone to assist him in subduing a demon. Wukong is arrogant, but Tripitaka is whiny, th...

Either way works pretty well, then. Sha Monk is more the 'desert bandit', but the actions taken by Yamcha are similar to that of the Dragon Prince->Horse. But, hey, who said Toriyama was going for a particularly close/accurate rendition of the story? He was obviously just using it as a sort of sprin...

Yes, the main references to JttW are in the first DB story arc, and they're rare after that. Having read a full translation of the story, let me assure you that "Sandy," or Sun Wu-neng, or Sha Monk (they give these guys multiple names) is NOT Tripitaka's horse. He's often left to guard the...
