Re: Toyotarou's Ideas Leave No Impact on Dragon Ball Super

I feel like this is an issue with Super in general, really. Like you said, neither Broly nor Super Hero have followed up on Ultra Instinct, and the Universe 6 folks also pretty much just disappeared entirely after the tournament... until they came back... for another tournament... and then they disa...

Re: Do you like Super?

Universe 6 saga- Universe 6 and 7 have a tournament to see who gets to use the Super Dragon Balls ToP saga- The universes compete in a battle royale to be the last universe standing Those are the plots. Saying if it's a tournament it doesn't have a plot is completely asinine. I think if anything yo...

Re: Do you like Super?

I have presented my own twist on that before though. When people get uppity about Super being the "one true cAnOn sequel" I've often asked them, "when did Goku first use the Blue Kaio-Ken in the one, true, singular, nothing-else-is-real 'canon' storyline? Was it against Hit during th...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 96 - Official Discussion Thread

Out of all the storylines shared between the manga and anime, honestly I think this is the one Toyo is adapting the best. Which, admittedly I am approaching from the perspective of finding it frustrating how vastly different the first nine volumes are from the show and so to me the fact that Toyo is...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 96 - Official Discussion Thread

I enjoyed the crosscutting between Bulma and the others casually discussing wanting to catch up with Piccolo, with Piccolo revealing his new form and radiating pure unbridled edge. That got a laugh out of me and I think is a good use of the comic format with both being on the same page turn. And whi...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

Although, I thought you were talking about Dragon Ball Heroes in general, not specifically the anime. And to that, you should know that Dragon Ball Heroes is a game, as such, (not only you should have your own opinion) you should base your opinion on it instead. Not on a promotional, eight-minute a...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super : Super Hero" Home Release Discussion Thread

Unfortunately names like "Broly" have been mandated for a while now (we got that notice at the beginning of the Dragon Ball Super: Broly international release), but yeah -- other things like "Krillin" have come in here now, too. Bummer. We're watching the Japanese version for a ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

The manga has never stopped, Yes, it did. For three months. And the first thing it did when it came back was retell a new movie we recently saw last year ... Taking a pre-planned break for two issues of a monthly magazine is hardly what I meant. That was always a "We'll be back soon!" kin...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

I feel like the thing with SDBH is... Super is still getting content too. The manga has never stopped, we had a new movie as recently as last year, and SDBH has a plot that's basically just an excuse to cram in as many cameos and powerups as possible, with little regard for how anything actually fit...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged

One thing I noticed in that initial callout was the very brief mention of 1Kids... I was there when that came out and from what I can recall the group pretty much cut him off immediately. Granted, they didn't say anything about it, but they have not worked with the guy since the stuff about him bein...

Re: New Dragon Ball Z Blu-Rays From Crunchyroll Coming August 1st

Alternately they could have kept the Dragon Boxes in print. Alternately they could have just released their untouched HD scans because seriously, while those scans might have their issues, they are infinitely preferrable to literally anything they've done since. Like, really CR, at this point I don'...

Re: Do you like Super?

-Goku was critical in beating Raditz -Piccolo, Kuririn, Ten, Yamcha, Gohan and clown boy were jobbers who's job was to stall time to let Goku fight Nappa -Goku then beats Vegeta ...You know, Vegeta not only defeated Goku in that fight, but he quite literally rendered him 100% crippled. The victory ...

Re: Do you like Super?

I got sick of it after a while. I hope it ends soon. (I still like Z and GT though). It ended already. I dont want to sound mean but this is already over. Dont be so salty. And I cant hate Super. I mean the manga is still ongoing. And we got a new movie just recently. While the show has been off th...

Re: Episode #0504 (23 July 2022)

I either wasn't around, or just flat-out missed a lot of these. But I do remember the "OMG DBZ IS COMING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!" meme in the light of Battle of Gods. It flagged as nonsense immediately to me, but yeah, I saw people actually believing it.

Re: Is there full fighting choreography in the Classic Series (No Super) outside of the movies?

I'd say it varies from episode to episode. There's definitely a lot of just "Looping animation of characters throwing fast punches with no thought" throughout, but that's far from all there is. I suppose the best way to look at it would be that the show tended to use those looping animatio...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 95 - Official Discussion Thread

I mean, it might feel like "filler" right now, but there are obvious ways Toyotaro can make this matter. Simply have Hedo, Gamma 1, Orange Piccolo and/or Gohan Beast play a substantial role in the next arc. And make Broly more of an active participant in the story after his movie already h...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 95 - Official Discussion Thread

I mean we're saying all this but the manga still skipped Resurrection 'F' and rushed through the Broly film but okay. I guess now's the time to suddenly care about having a complete and coherent manga for some reason. Like I said... The manga is admittedly stuck with this problem somewhat anyway be...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 95 - Official Discussion Thread

^ I agree. The objective is not to "speed through it because we've already seen it all so who cares?". The objective is that it's supposed to feel like a natural manga arc for someone who has never seen the movie at all and doesn't plan on seeing it - which also gives us a 2D version of t...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 95 - Official Discussion Thread

I never much liked how F and Broly were just skipped entirely and then just briefly recapped through narration whenever anything from them became relevant ... This isn't meant to be a call out to just you but I see a lot of people saying this; again even though it barely had any posts I think three...
