Re: The All-Purpose "What-If " Thread
What if they recruited Tao Pai Pai and Tsuru Sen'nin to fight the Saiyans somehow? Assuming the duo trained, how different would the fight be?

Re: Was Dragon Ball really completely unknown in America in the late 1980's?
To add to Kunzait's point, Astro Boy was airing on NBC from September 7, 1963 to August 20, 1965. And then it was airing in syndication for another entire DECADE after that.

Re: Do you still hate Dragonball GT?
You'd also have to attach Toriyama's name somewhere because "nothing not written by the original author can ever be good". At this point the franchise should get a new writer as his writing quality hasn't lived up to his original work let alone the standards set by what came after. Yeah, ...

Re: Androids 19 and 20's presence in the alternate timelines
21 is also non canon. Gero at least in the anime says that he stopped watched in the saiyan arc. Cell's creation watched a little longer. Even if you try to claim only Toriyama stuff is canon, you're still wrong, because Toriyama created 21. 21 is a video game character she doesn't effect the manga...

Re: Androids 19 and 20's presence in the alternate timelines
Dr. Gero says he had to stop watching after the saiyan arc to make the Androids. Normally I'd agree, but Android 21 was made by a RRA computer (almost certainly Dr. Gero's) and has traits of Buu. It doesn't seem out of the question to me that Gero at least kept an eye on the Z-Men while making the ...

Re: Super Episode 127 (11 February 2018)
I'd like to chime in. In the past, "idiot" and "moron" were both terms literally used in scientific literature to refer to "mentally impaired" people. They were the "retard" words of their day. Language moves on, and I don't think anyone using the term is deli...

Re: Things that grind your gears
Because who cares about the name making any coherent sense to anyone? Gotta be as literal as possible, even if it comes across as clunky and completely misses the fucking point . Awhile back, someone on this forum (i dont think they're on here anymore) called USSJ/Grade 3 the full Japanese "Su...

Re: Things that grind your gears
At this point, much of the fandom. Particularly dubbies and people who obsess over power levels. Yeah. This. But I like to add extreme shippers and elitist sub fans in the mix too. The creator has spoken, and that is God telling you how the world works. Death of the Author. It's a legitimate thing ...

Everything, in some way, shape, or form, even if not depicted exactly like onscreen in cases of filler or movies. Broad strokes, basically.

Re: Androids 19 and 20's presence in the alternate timelines
Sorry to necropost, but: -In Cell's flashback in the anime, Gero is an android. Presumably, he converts himself in all timelines because he inevitably dies of old age/illness. It's just that 17 and 18 kill him in the Trunks timelines. -Since it seems to be implied that 19 was the one that transferre...

Ah, yes. The beauty of humor is "Har, har, har! Let's find amusement in sexual harassment and assault". Guys, I watched Family Guy and they do it there and it's soooooooooo funny! We should use Family Guy as the beacon to guide what all fiction directs to because Family Guy is the gold st...

Re: Roshi's antics
Why is it 'creepy' and 'weird'? I don't find the stuff with the Muten Roushi all that funny a lot of the time, either, but I also can't see any reason to describe it as being 'creepy' and 'weird' when the content otherwise has no message of harm towards real people. If anything it's irreverent towa...

Re: Roshi's antics
Ain't no flaw to me, I find it funny. We've become PC enough as it is in today's age where everyone is offended over little thing, I'd rather it not ruin a significant part of Master Roshi's character just because some people on Tumblr might cry about it. If he wants to have a good old squeeze of V...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
is one Piece the only Long Running Shonens that surpass Dragon Ball? In terms of overall manga sales, yes. One Piece is king in Japan and has been since the mid 2000's, but the popularity of One Piece doesn't touch Dragon Ball's popularity worldwide no i meant in terms of actual content quality. Dr...

Re: Bulma's Seiyuu Passed Away
I saw this on twitter, why or how? Was she seriously ill at 57? The last episode of Super we saw Bulma in is the one right before everyone teleported to the tournament of power. I guess that was her final role as Bulma, besides doing the voice in Dragonball Fighter Z videogame. It appears it ...
