Re: Super's Manga vs Super's Anime Discussion
I think you are being a bit too literal here. It's not Trunks' arc because it's named as such, it's his arc because: It's his world that is in peril; He is the one who has the only significant losses; Toriyama very clearly intented for him to have some direct role with regards to fighting, seeing a...

Re: Super's Manga vs Super's Anime Discussion
Looking back now at people bashing the manga for "making Trunks a secondary/tertiary character in his own arc" is pretty funny. Funny because? It's not about an arbirtrary quota of screen/panel time... Even if the Trunks bits he took are from Toei, it's his job to actually make them work ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I’m really not understanding the Toppo criticisms because the setting was completely different. Toppo and Goku dont even know about universes being destroyed yet just the tournament so Toppo doesn’t have a reason to give a grand speech or Justice this or Justice that yet. He was only on screen to f...

Re: How would you rate the current arc now? (Episode 111)
The arc as presented through episodes 109-111, or the arc as existed before that? Because the former is something I quite like, that feels like it delivers on the Boo-arc-esque mix of character drama, zany humor, and absolutely dire tension in a way that's totally appropriate, and I think the latte...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
But I used it correctly. He had no sympathy for the other universes, and actively taunted them saying he'll take down everyone they throw at him, after learning that they'll be erased, and after seeing the Grand Priest give the rule that if Bergamo won, the Erasure would be waived. It was like no c...

Re: Why was the Spirit Bomb so powerful?
There is nothing in the show that implies the Genki Dama was actually powerful? If anything, it's the opposite, we have direct statements that it isn't powerful enough and Goku is certainly aware of that. It is, however, certainly powerful enough to harm a SSB Goku that's out of energy which isn't a...

Re: We need to talk about Goku
This really isn't anything that's significantly different from how he was portrayed in the Boo arc to be honest.
Goku's being Goku, this is just the natural escalation of it.

Re: Is it just me or Vegeta gets a lot of love from Toyotaro?
Toyotaro is a fan, so it's expected that he would write like one, which includes trying to play a rivalry that isn't really there to begin with, but totally exists in the fandom's perception of it, regardless of it being a detriment to both characters by this point.

Re: Do Goten & Trunks deserve to be in the tournament strictly for reasons of character development?
What kind of logic is this? That's like saying we know where everyone will end up in EoZ so why bother even having Dragon Ball Super exist? I don't understand at all how you see this as a valid defense in not giving them any character development. Let me put it in this way: There is no creative int...

Re: Do Goten & Trunks deserve to be in the tournament strictly for reasons of character development?
We know exactly where these characters will end up. We know what actually makes these characters tick with regards to fighting. There is no need to waste the audience's time with what we know won't matter. Goten and Trunks will grow up, have a change of taste with regards to fighting, from doing it...

Re: Does anyone actually care about the characters getting erased?
Why should I care? The story hasn't given me anything to care in those characters, it's just business for the gods, 9/10 of the U7 cast has totally come to terms with what needs to be done before the tournament even started and Gohan quickly accepted his role in this. Our primary POV character, Gok...

Re: Super Episode 104 (20 August 2017)
Not surprised, it isn't explained how Goku can now use SSG again. That being said, kinda miffed how Goku ended up using Vegeta's strategy in the manga and how now he gets the credit for it lol. That being said, wow, what an episode. It went by fast for me, and it was hella nice seeing focus on Hit ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I understand that him using it 3 times during the recruitment arc completely nullifies this for some people but I really don't get that reasoning. You really shouldn't assume the thought processes of other people. It just seems like a way for you to project something onto someone that will add to h...

Being a god within the context of Dragon Ball is nothing more than a job, with the possible exception being Zen'o.

Re: Why was goku bothered to use kaioken x10 against hit ?
Goku used Kaioken x10 because Toriyama's outline had him become x10 stronger than Vegeta . The manga got around by insanely convoluted rules with Blue's transformation and the anime just made Hit overwhelmingly more powerful. However, since Goku was far above Hit so the desire to fight him again ma...

Re: Goku's excitement to meet and train Uub is starting make a little less sense
Goku is excited about Oob's potential and in grooming him to become a powerful fighter to satisfy his need for fighting in a non-destructive way. Within the context of the original run alone, Goku's actions and overall negligence in dealing with Boo, which lead to the situation escalating to outrage...
