Re: Majin Buu's voice
When I hear Boo's Japanese voice prior to his changes, I get the impression of a fatty that's simple minded. However, when I hear dub Boo, I hear a full blown idiot. This is due to his dialogue and the way they present his voice to be that of...whatever the hell they were going for. It was the same ...

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
It's music made specifically for Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball Kai is Dragon Ball Z trimmed in places to flow at a better pace. Where does the "not fitting with Kai" come in?Gotham22 wrote:That totally doesnt fit with Kai. Just my opinion.

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
This is great news in the sense that I will get to see Kai with DBZ music, but bad news I guess because Toei will have to pay fines and that makes it even less possible to see the buu saga? Doubt it. Pretty sure the case with there not being a Boo saga was simply because Dragon Ball wasn't making a...

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
If Kikuchi is involved, ask for authorization to take music directly from other recent anime he's done, or ask him to make a few new pieces, but not even one old piece, not for the beautiful ending we've expected. Don't end a great show with low quality episodes ruined by the sound taking all the e...

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
Probably not, since that wasn't a Kikuchi score.Metalwario64 wrote:Just thought of something: does this mean we'll get Spirit VS. Spirit back for Gohan's Super Saiyan 2 transformation?
Would've been awesome if they got Hironobu Kageyama's music back, as well. ;_;

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
1.) We'll lose fantastic music pieces and insert songs (Tatta Hitori no Senshi & Tada Kogoeru Elegy, though neither composed by Yamamoto). Pretty sure this only affects the BGM, not the lyrical pieces that weren't made by Yamamoto. Also, I seriously hope Goku's sacrifice gets its BGM changed. G...

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledged Yamamoto's Rip-Offs
Pretty sure none of this has to do with Kai ending suddenly or why it hasn't aired on Nicktoons. I imagine this will only really affect the home releases. That's all, really. This may also mean they'll probably recall some soundtracks and issue newer versions with the replaced music.

Re: Dragonball Kai (FUNimation English) Dub: General Discuss
Like I mentioned, it's sad to see how Eric Vale's Trunks is still basically unchanged from before. He can do the same voice, but without the raspiness in other roles, especially ones older than Trunks! What probably hurts this more is that J. Michael Tatum isn't writing the script right now. There's...

Re: Dragonball Kai (FUNimation English) Dub: General Discuss
They pronounce it like "Giiroow", right? The way they pronounce it is "Jeh-roh" with the beginning part having (I guess the best way to describe it) a French pronunciation for the "Jeh" part. As for the ending theme not being the second one, it doesn't surprise me. The...

Re: The it over 9000 queston?
Yeah, I too found it funny when Kajet did it first. All of his videos were genuinely funny (sadly, he pulled them down). But then everyone decided it was cool to start doing it. As like any joke, it got overused and became incredibly stale, especially no thanks to those that weren't funny.

Re: Dragonball Kai (FUNimation English) Dub: General Discuss
But guys, don't you remember that we already knew they'd be keeping dub terms for the edited version? If they kept some of the original names for the uncut version, there's hope for Instantaneous Movement. Speaking of Gohan's lack of "Mr. Piccolo," I find it funny how the games use "M...

Re: Kai Episode 92 (6th February 2011)
I've watched the scene again and again. It made me realize just how underwhelming the scene ended up playing out. The music is *okay* but really...it lacks that special feel to it. It's kinda hard to describe. It definitely shows how lacking Kai's score is in variety. Hell, I just noticed that they ...

Re: Dragonball Kai (FUNimation English) Dub: General Discuss
It's likely that those, especially the latter one, are just forms of censorship for Nicktoons. I'm assuming that Vegeta would say "He killed me" to Yamcha, and Freeza would say "The rest of you search for the Earthlings and kill them." The Freeza one I can understand if it were ...

Re: Dragonball Kai (FUNimation English) Dub: General Discuss
My overall thoughts: Right from the beginning, the first thing noticeable is the writing style. J. Michael Tatum did an amazing job writing the scripts for the Freeza episodes. Patrick Seitz wrote the scripts for these episodes and you get a really big old DBZ dub impression from it, too. Some of th...

I bought a used copy of Dragon Box Vol. 1 for $20 and Vol. 2 for $25 from a nearby MovieStop.
