That is because Vegeta had the advantage over Cell at the time, so he was not exerting himself the way Goku was while attempting to keep up with Cell.

As for the Potara themselves, the only thing we know is that East Kaioshin and Kibito had incomplete training and thus had no idea about the earrings for the 5 million years they were in the Kaioshin realm after Buu's attack on the other Kaioshin. Nothing says those other members weren't fully awar...

I know that term is often used to describe the Kaioshins, but they seem more like Gods of Order/Guardians than anything else.

I still find it funny these days that people believe SSJ2 Gohan vs. Cell is merely 2x SSJ Gohan. Buu Saga makes it pretty clear that Gohan can get more powerful if enraged, so it is obvious that SSJ2 Gohan vs. Cell was miles ahead of what he would be with just a 2x boost.

It is pretty clear that his "easily accessible" ki is lower when compared to his kid self during the battle with Cell, but he is not necessarily outright weaker since, if pushed to an enraged state, he would put forth more power.

No. Dimensions apart and worlds apart have been used previously to demonstrate that the powers being compared are vastly too different, so it is likely that realm is being used synonymously.

False. Goku confirms it had nothing to do with Vegeta.

If you brace yourself for a blow to a particular part of your body, you are likely to be more prepared and receive less damage.

When ki is what is enhancing the body's natural defenses, it makes sense that those unprepared can be damaged.

That might have been one of the upgrades Dende made to Shenron.

Multiply it by 2 and you're pretty close to the 500 figure. Half the rock is likely under the ground.

All of the things you suggested are plausible plans that could have prevented things from happening the way they did...including Vegeta's arrogance and sheer stupidity.

It is silly, but it's entirely possible: Goku w/Kaioken x4 and KHH didn't completely eradicate Vegeta. Goku w/Kaioken x20 and KHH didn't completely eradicate Frieza.
