DRAGON BOX Z ni tsuite mou hitotsu no shitsumon!!

I have another question about the Dragon Boxes. Are the episodes chaptered like they are on the FUNi DVDs (about six chapters per episode), or is one episode one chapter?

The first time I heard Goku's Japanese voice was in the scene where he goes Super for the first time. I was used to Sean Schemmel (sp?) and now suddenly I hear this absolutely silly voice screaming: "Ora no risei ga chotto de mo nokotte 'ru uchi ni... TOTTO TO KAERU N DA!!!" I about fell o...

Anyone happen to know which of Funi's dvd's has the episode of Gohan going ssj2 on it? I haven't seen that scene in japanese (well I've seen 5 seconds of Spirit VS Spirit) and now I'm interested. You poor deprived child. j/k Unless I miss my guess, it would be on the recently-relea...

The infamous SSJ2 scene has inspired SO MUCH in me. I mean, I had already grown up wanting to be an animator/director, but THIS... this gave me a much better outlook on how to make scenes GOOD!

Not that I'm trying to start an argument or anything. After all, that IS your opinion that both versions are equally good, but I just wanted to expand on why exactly I love the Japanese scene SO MUCH.

I've seen the SSJ2 Gohan scene in both versions and I really don't see what's so much better about the Japanese version. They're both just as cool IMO. Coming from a director's point of view (not that I *am* a director, but I aspire to be one), you have to really realize which version does this sce...

Toriyama's a genius!

I was searching through some older threads and came across SuperSonic's "Shocking Moments" thread. I wanted to post my two cents, but it was old enough to be considered necro-posting. Instead, I'm starting this new thread. My most shocking moment was when I saw Gohan go SSJ2 the first time...

I think I could get by fairly well in Japan, it's only a matter of budget to get myself there, plus I probably would need a quick "refresher course" on everyday language... otherwise I might end up asking people if they can sense the restroom's ki or something :)

The (hopeless) prospect of the Japanese language!?

I've been studying Japanese religiously ever since April '99, and yet I've never been in the country, and to go there, even for a brief vacation, seems like such a faraway accomplishment, given my already-busy life and my tight budget. To this day, I continue to watch raw Japanese DBZ, and I catch s...

What I don't like is the prospect of FUNi's dubbed DBZ movies 1-3, because being a purist I want all of the nuances, even down to the TOEI mark at the beginning of each film... it makes it feel like that much more of a movie. Let's face it, though, the TOEI mark is almost definitely a goner, even th...

That's actually pretty dang clever. I thought perhaps they'd keep the insinuation (just not the actual shot), since they don't seem to be shying entirely away from Kame Sennin's perversion anymore, but then there's the fact that Roshi spurts out a massive river of nosebleed all over the invisible ma...

Tough editing dilemma?

I don't have Cartoon Network, so I never got to see the Uranai Baba episodes edited. My question is, can anyone tell me how they "wrote around" the sequence where Kuririn exposes Bulma? It's such a vital part to this point in the story, and I can't help but wonder how on earth they explain...

A lot of the humor comes from the expressions on the characters' faces (at least that's what makes me laugh). One of my favorites is when Goku first introduces Gohan to Kuririn, Bulma and Kame Sennin ("G-Goku no ko?!").

No problem. I was planning on getting the new versions anyway (I just wanted to prove that I watch the Jp. version). :D

Ken: Yes on the uncut "redub," depending on which track you select, of course. Oh, yeah. Derrr. That's what I meant: the Japanese track. Must not have been thinking straight when I said "redub". Demo saa, that's great to know that the uncut edition will be graced with your prese...

Its in the movie 1 piece on the DragonBall & DragonBall Z: Daizenshuu CD Set isnt it? Or did you mention that? It's in the movie when he walks down on that staircase and Kuririn freaks out, but it's not within that track on the 5 CD set (disc five, track seven). Nor is it within the appropriate...
