Re: "DragonBall Z Kai" TV Broadcast Talkback
So? Just because he's a god, does that mean he has to have a stereotypical deep voice? Part of his charm in the dub is that you wouldn't except a god to have such a goofy voice. I would be inclined to agree with your sentiment except that there's nothing "charming" about Schemmel's portra...

XD well it's a chain of shocks. His status, then his appearance, then his voice, and then what he says.Metalwario64 wrote:Yeah, until you see him 2 seconds later.batistabus wrote:You hear an old guy, you know he's legendary, and you expect him to be wise or whatever.

Re: "DragonBall Z Kai" TV Broadcast Talkback
Giving him a wacky voice makes his voice the joke more than his behavior. It dillutes the humor of the character and misses the point that, other than being a little eccentric, he's still a sagely old god. So? Just because he's a god, does that mean he has to have a stereotypical deep voice? Part o...

Re: "DragonBall Z Kai" TV Broadcast Talkback
As inaccurate as Kaio's voice is, I feel like they're making the best of it. You're definitely not getting the same effect, but he makes me chuckle. I can deal with it. Inaccurate to what? He's a blue catfish-like creature who likes to tell jokes and goof around. His dub voice suits both his person...

I'm not getting any grandma out of that. It's high pitched rasp, which is reminiscent of an agitated Nakao.jjgp1112 wrote:Holy shit, he sounds REALLY bad when he's screaming in those two clips. Yuck. He sounds like a grandma.

Re: New Freeza Talkback
Frieza's new voice is good...if what you were looking for is a voice that sounds exactly like the JP Frieza, I guess. But so far I've heard nothing that Linda Young didn't do in that scene in the Z Dub. She was just more aggressive sounding, I guess. I honestly do not think Linda could pull this ...

Re: "Dragon Soul" - Home Release Version or TV Version?
I think it'd be cool to hear a variety of different people sing it. For example, on the next release, have the intro sung by Vic and then have the next one sung by someone else, etc. Realistically, that would never EVER happen. But from what we have now, I like Sean's overall. Vic has some great mom...

Re: New Freeza Talkback
I'm not even kidding, last night I had a dream Linda Young turned into Second Form Freeza and went on a rampage looking for other voice actors to join forces with her. ... Anyway, like most of you I hated the new Freeza at first but now I'm in love with it. As for the whole "his voice changes w...
