Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Did Funimation ever explain why we never got the Dragonbox for the Movies or DragonBall?

Re: Budokai 1 20th Anniversary Thread
The only time I liked the Rock the Dragon song was in this game. So many nights as a teenager were spent with Budokai 1.

Re: What's up with the hate towards Toei and their contributions to Dragon Ball in some parts of the fandom?
My only issue with Toei has always been that it ignores the fact that Dragon Ball is a growing global franchise. This leads to a slew of issues related to product investment. Looking at what Dragon Ball is worth and seeing it being treated no better than it was in the 80s and 90s is annoyingly biza...

Re: Do you think the anime should adopt 3D animation?
I've read the new movie cost 30+ million to make. No way that is cost effective for a weekly tv series.

Re: Funimation's 30th anniversary collectible home video release
So Funimation screwed up another DBZ release? I'm so glad that my finances are good enough to slowly buy the remaining Dragonbox DVDs. The vast majority of shows only get 1 shot to release a show properly. But sense DragonBall is a mega-hit Funimation can fail upwards.

I'm wondering if GT was successful in Japan would we have gotten that ending. But the GT ending always sat well with me. The long franchise was over with a sense of finality.

With the Funimation branding going away will Steve Simmons be used for Dragonball translations in the future?

Re: OG Dragon Ball and why one shouldnt mind if people skip it
Yeah, for the people who refuse to watch the 1986 series what is your interest in the franchise? Is it Gohan and Vegeta? Are you really neck deep into the Saiyan lore and don’t want to deal with a series that never references Saiyans? Because that’s about the only reasonable answer as to why you wo...

Re: Dragonball Super doesn't feel like Dragonball
I'm currently making my way through Super via the Blu-ray sets. The show is great due to the slice of life episodes. It isn't just some villain or crazy threat. Super fits in perfectly with the rest of the franchise. What else are people expecting? Z fans are probably wanting Gohan to take a larger ...

Re: I'm Pissed of copycat called DragonBall Super
Dragonball Super has the right amount of comedy and action. I think you are digging too deeply honestly. At least in this series the heroes are constantly reaching new heights while fleshing out the universe. I look forward to the new film and the future of this great franchise. Even the actions ar...

I meant people in the United States and Canada.Cure Dragon 255 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 20, 2022 6:46 pm I dont know if that's mocking me or not, but I will say saying Americans and exclude Latin Americans in that context REALLY pisses me off.

Is this divide primarily with American/European fans? I've always seen Dragonball as one big franchise once I found the manga.

Re: Is anyone annoyed that the revival happened?
The revival is wonderful and I'm enjoying the new content. Broly's reimagining was well done in my opinion. But Dragonball is part of a larger trend of companies making money off nostalgia.

The US is a mixed economy. Bank bailouts wouldn't happen under a purely capitalist system.
With this merger I wonder if Sony will try to do Animax in North America.

I'll enjoy the film no matter what. But I wonder how this film will be received by fans who just want fighting for 90 minutes. American fans don't want light hearted Dragonball.

Re: At its core, why is Dragon Ball so loved?
Dragonball for me has always been a fun show to watch. Goku succeeds after failing and I think that is something the average person can relate to.
