Re: The first time that you watched the Japanese version?
For years I recalled seeing short clips on the internet of the Japanese version, which to me was somewhat godly or something. They had all the good stuff that I didn't get with the airings back in 1998. It might have been around 1999 or 2000 when I saw the first three DBZ movies (Dead Zone, World's ...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I really don't like the *ting* bells and slide whistles that Kikuchi used in his compositions, I really feel they ruined the songs they were added into unless they're meant for comedic scenes/intent. I don't like those, either. They ruined a lot of moments in the series for me. The twang noise like...

We actually do - same scene.Fox666 wrote:We don't have any reference to determine Piccolo's location, since we can't see his feet. Technically, he could be at 1km away and be as large as a mountain.

Re: The artifact and damaged film thread
There's a thread in the Kai section that lists the re-animated scenes, and this was one of them that I remembered.

Re: Why?
If I saw a character use a special technique that I (speaking for Piccolo) came up with, I'd be surprised. If I also saw the same guy use a technique that just about all the good guys know, then I'd shit bricks. Guess it just clicked with him. Cell from Future Trunks' timeline wasn't ready yet - or ...

Re: Is a narrator really needed?
Right, take it in the context of the show as it was airing for the first time on television. Is it really necessary now with ownership of physical copies and even having episodes ripped from them onto your computers? No, not at all. I skip them all the time for this reason. However, for people (most...

Re: Where the edited lines sounded better than the uncut.
Can't remember which episode it was exactly but it was sometime during Goku vs Frieza, Goku said.. Uncut: See you in Hell Frieza! Edited: Goodbye Frieza! Oh, I cringe at Goku's uncut line, very odd for him to say that, and Sean Schemmel's delivery for the edited line was slightly better I think. Th...

Re: Why is the height consistency so terrible in Dragon Ball
Regarding my Piccolo examples:
How? I was referring to Piccolo's height next to Goku, not to the characters in the foreground. Piccolo is standing next to Goku, so I think the example is valid.Fox666 wrote:Due to perspective, the first image is not necessairly an error.

Re: Perfect Cell the God?
He's Perfect, Super and what about if he was to became Earth's God? 1. His condescending attitude. 2. His tainted-ness. He's perfect according to him, but really, he has the good and bad of those he's made up of. 3. As soon as the Cell games were over, he'd annihilate the entire planet. I think bei...

Most of the tracks I don't mind. If there was more variety, then I'm sure it'd be great and I myself would love to own those.

Re: Why is the height consistency so terrible in Dragon Ball
I think Piccolo and Vegeta vary the most, if Goku is 5'9" then Vegeta seemed to be any where from ~4'9" to ~5'5" and Piccolo any where from 6'3" to 7'6". I think Piccolo is supposed to be 7'4" but really he looks about 6'6" most of the time. Quite so for Piccolo: ...

Re: Best and Worst Animators
The Trunks vs Freeza and Cold episode(s) are some of my favorites. Just to see him introduced like a badass is a great watch. However, someone screwed up tremendously on letting different studios work on them. That's why it's a mixed bag to watch the episodes, despite the content. Here are some samp...

I wouldn't call that a stupid decision. Piccolo was critically injured and his death meant Kami's death which meant no more Dragon Balls.Zephyr wrote:He made stupid decisions well before that. He gave Piccolo a senzu...

Oh yeah that thread's a gem. The triangle one, to me, is the worst. Just an awful design quo that looks very low quality.

Re: Cutest Boys in Dragonball
Can we make sure one thing's clear - teenage Gohan doesn't refer to the one at the end of the Cell arc. Not picking on anyone in particular in this thread, but I want to at least have that clear as Super Saiyan hair. Teenage Gohan is the one in the Boo saga. The one at the Cell arc wasn't older than...

Re: Cutest Boys in Dragonball
Teenage Gohan sort of looked like a sweetie pie. His future self looked boss as fuck. He was built like a tank and pushed to fight - that's looks and brains molded to fighting. However, the one we know well turns into a bit of a pale, shy clutz. Slender like his father was back at the end of DB. Can...

Re: Why is the height consistency so terrible in Dragon Ball
Doesn't the same thing (height and size inconsistencies) occur with items, too? Future Trunks' sword you can see in multiple episodes changing shape. When he has it sheathed, it looks fine, but when someone like Cold is holding it, then thing is gigantic.

Majin Chi-chi, the ultimate adversary! But doesn't it only effect those with evil within them...doesn't it? Quite sure she has some evil in her. Only proof I have right now is when she talked about beating up Satan and stealing the prize money. She isn't Boo-retarded, so she'd know why she isn't su...
