SJW would have ate early Dragon Ball alive nowadays (admittedly the overt sexualization of Bulma was
a bit much)

Re: Was the hate for Kai largely unjustified?
^The score scandal, "reanimated scenes", and Final Chapter mess seemed pretty passed over in online hate compared to "Waaaah my falcouner score" "waaah the voice actors sound good now" "waaah the characters don't spend six episodes to power up " Kai aint perfe...

, but I honestly don't know why people dislike her performance so much. I would personally take her over Stephanie any day. This. While Stephanie's Kid Goku wasn't too terrible. Her Gohan was truly horrid and ill-fitting. I think Colleen's Gohan was a bit too try hard but still a vast improvement.

Re: Things that grind your gears
The people still going on about Vegeta needing to get the final blow on Freeza in the ROF arc because of how Freeza "TURNED HIM EVUL!!" even though the Saiyans were evil scumbags to begin with. Huh you would think with the influence Dragon Ball Z Abridged has had on the American fandom (f...

Re: Does Toriyama listen to his fans?
Didn't Toriyama originally intend on Gohan defeating Buu before Japanese fans demanded it be Goku?
Or was that just a dumb rumor/half truth?

Re: Who saw the Japanese Verison as a kid?
Yeah I didn't initially know Dragon Ball Z was from Japan just like I didn't know a lot of the shows I watched at that time were from Japan like: Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and half of Power Rangers. I learned Dragon Ball Z was Japanese animation the same time I found out about anime in around 2nd or 3rd...

Re: The All-Purpose "What-If " Thread
What if Goku stayed dead at the end of the Cell saga and Gohan took over as the lead? What if 19 and 20 were the real Androids? What if 4Kids actually dubbed Dragon Ball Z Kai rather than just air a heavily censored Funi dub on their own programming block? What if #18 didn't throw the match to Mr. S...

Ocean/Funi Dub vs Uncut Redub w/dub music
Which do you prefer or hate less. The original 1996 dub or the in -house uncut redub Funimation did in 2005

The Ocean/Funi dub had good voices too though.

Re: Kyle Hebert's narration is so out place with the Japanese score
And Brice retired years ago from voice acting. Kyle is kinda funny as the Smodcast Network promo guy, but he doesn't have that sort of voice for a narrator. I do feel it's mainly the style & the fact that we're used to him as "the guy who ruined the DBZ dub narration" rather than a pr...

Kyle Hebert's narration is so out place with the Japanese score
Not sure if its his delivery or the lines they gave him to say but his voice does not fit as the narrator with the Japanese BGM. They should have used the guy from Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z Kai

Re: Why does the uncut dub with Japanese music not played Head Cha la
The more I think about the more I'm surprise the Blue Rays didnt use Head Cha La for the English dub considering Dragon Ball Z abridged has probably helped expose it to a lot of DBZ fans who wouldn't touch the Japanese subs

Re: Is the English instrumental opening supposed to be a remix of Cha-La Head-Cha-La?
The opening, assuming its the one I'm thinking of,
would be less for kids and more for the slighltly older crowd since its for the uncut release.

Re: Funimation's Cast Improvement
I've always felt Linda Young was an improvement over Pauline Newstone simply for sounding closer to a male voice. It didn't sound remotely male and even if it did, she was so bad in that role. Newstone was a better and more seasoned VA and while her take on Freeza might have left something to be de...

Re: Thoughts on Brian Drummond's Vegeta?
Back in the early 2000s, around 2003-2004, during the DBZOA era, Drummond was pretty much universally well liked. There was even another site wholly dedicated to how great the Ocean dub was and how terrible Funi's was, though I can't remember it. I just recall it being hilarious. I've seen Drummond...
