Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 12/31/17!)
In regards to the next video, I think there's something to be said about how it feels like the chapter reads like Toriyama fighting with himself to write himself out of the corner he just found himself it. Bulma's the one pointing out the obvious with everyone else trying to rationalize the plotline...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 12/25/17!)
I'm surprised you didn't mention the dub in regards to the movie titles because they actually fix the problem with the Japanese titles. The movie about Lord Slug is called Lord Slug. The movie about Cooler getting revenge is called Cooler's Revenge. Hell, they're even more concise with the Bardock S...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 12/18/17!)
I do wonder if Cold was a case of Toriyama wanting to make a bigger battle than before... only to lose interest and just move on from battles when he had recently capped off one of his biggest yet.

Re: Cell vs Buu: which arc was more seemless in shifting gears?
I feel like they could've transitioned from the Martial Arts Tournament to Buu a lot better by completing the tournament and having the winner suddenly get his energy drained as that's the power Bobidi would desire.

Re: Thoughts on Colleen Clinkenbeard?
I prefer Henderson because she's not that grating unlike Clinkenbeard's take. I found Clinkenbeard's Gohan grating in a good way since it kinda reminds me, "Oh, yeah, he's still just a kid in the end." For me it went in and out. There were times where he spoke and it sounded fine, and rem...

Re: Thoughts on Colleen Clinkenbeard?
My only issue with Colleen is that she changed how 18 sounded for TFC. It's like they were having her do a McCoy impression to help prepare for Super, but they might as well have just used McCoy if that's the case. Anyway, her Gohan and 18 were huge improvements and she fit Cell Saga Gohan just fin...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 9/18/17!)
The bigger issue than ki healing coming out of nowhere is that it would be incredibly useful in loads of other situations where it is never used, instead making it a lazy plot device. It serves a narrative purpose in that it allows the moral about Frieza's hubris to come to fruition, but it's poorl...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 9/18/17!)
I will defend a few points: The whole Goku sharing Ki with Freeza with a supposed blast looked a lot different in the Anime where it was more of an wave-like energy than a visible blast so that explains why many fans have hardly been quite up in arms about it. In addition, it seemed to not so much k...

Re: Favorite Filler Moments
A couple more easy one's to cut would've been Gohan fighting 50% Freeza and Vegeta seeing SS Goku on Namek. The first seems questionable because when Porunga transports everyone to Earth, Gohan would be flying around Namek for no reason with that filler removed. As for Vegeta seeing SS Goku, I alwa...

Re: Favorite Filler Moments
I mean come on, they skipped the driving episode but kept Ginyu-Bulma? Well, as far as Ginyu and Bulma goes, I personally prefer it when the Anime gave her something to do rather than ignore her until convenient like in the Manga. Mind you, I find it weird that they didn't cut it out when it wasn't...

Dub lines and even aspects that you like.
This goes for each one be it from the original DBZ dub (FUNi and Ocean) or the more DBZ Kai (The Final Chapters) and Super dub. Assuming you watch and enjoy any of them to begin with. Feel free to elaborate too.

Re: Favorite Filler Moments
Tao Pai Pai's day around town, when he hardboils an egg in his bathwater. I also loved how an assassin tries to off him but he uses his shoe in order to counter it. I dunno if this counts but The History of Trunks basically took the "Trunks The Story" bonus chapter and added in a whole bu...

Re: Thoughts on Colleen Clinkenbeard?
I think my only complaint is that she comes off sounding more feminine than childish. Well, Gohan was never really a manly man brawler compared to his fellow Saiyans so he got a bit of traits on could consider feminine. As for Goku, I don't mind if Nadolny's unavailable for new material or that it'...

Re: Thoughts on Colleen Clinkenbeard?
I guess I don't mind her. My favorite Gohan will always be Saffron Henderson's. I find Kai Gohan to sound really whiny and strange. That's a weird complaint considering that Gohan's whininess is a big part of his character, particularly the Saiyan Saga where he's pre-tty young. I mean, he's ages 4 ...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 7/10/17!)
As far as characterization goes, that moment wasn't OOC for Goku. At least at the time IMO. Oh, no, no. I'm not talking about in a characterization sense. I'm talking about in a "how in the bloody hell can that possibly work and if so, why does anybody die from anything?" sense. Ah, yeah....

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 7/10/17!)
Also, yeah! The origin of the weird ki-donation thing that never crops in the series before or afterward Goku donates some ki to Freeza at the end of the battle. Yeah... I can't wait to tear that part a new posterior cavity. It makes the Piccolo thing make sense by comparison. As far as characteriz...

Re: Are the Dub Changes in Kai TFC Dub an Issue?
Wow. I popped in Kai and it happened to be the episode where Vegeta was coming back after stealing Dr. Brief's ship. I think that in that particular scene when they're sitting around discussing Vegeta before he actually comes back, took a lot of liberties. I feel like the redub of Kai wasn't really...

Re: Are the Dub Changes in Kai TFC Dub an Issue?
To be fair though, Vegetto saying "Pwned" makes it sound like this is a fandub from 2007. Eh, I'll allow it if only because of how the fusion is meant to be sorta arrogant in a "F**k yeah, let's throw down, b*tch!" Though I swear the word was "owned" which has ye...

Re: Are the Dub Changes in Kai TFC Dub an Issue?
As far as the Buu saga goes with how it brought back more of Dragon Ball's earlier humor as it clashes with Z's drama, I'd say the more quirky (for lack of a better term) dialogue like Trunks' slang is honestly befitting for this very mixed arc. When appropriate in the moment. It also helps that the...
