Finding out that finally, region 4 DVDs would have an alternative Japanese audio track and subtitles. I didn't even CARE so much about the Japanese version, I was just happy to be getting it in the face of so many Region 4 releases going wrong.

In regards to sound, it's not BAD per se, it's just not very good. Unlike a lot of older toons being released on DVD in the big, bad 21st century, this didn't get any kind of remix, revamp, or anything like that. It's all mono, and sounds the same as the FUNimation Japanese soundtrack. Slightly diss...

There's a few Production IG ones, your best bet though is to head on down to the Anime on DVD Forums to check which R2 and R3 DVDs contain English subtitles or Dub tracks.

Being dvds, they would probably have English subs, as well as Chinese, Cantonese and Tai, but the quality of the grammar would be crap along the lines on of the Japanese Naruto dvds' translations. Ummm, I think you're a bit incorrect there. Most JAPANESE Region 2 DVDs do not carry English subtitles...
