Re: How strong is Android 20?

Is it known for certain whether or not there is a cap on the quantity of Ki Gero and 19 are capable of accruing through absorption?

Re: Dr. Gero's Theme (Androids Extended) MIDI

hah that's awesome! I love the Dr. Gero one! It has this cool laid back vibe that the original didn't. It's good thing. You should really change the ending though lol I always hated those last couple notes. Interesting. I was always of the opinion that the dissonance created by the last few notes o...

Re: Nate Johnson Track

Indeed, his work on the Vegeta vs. Zarbon fight is quite memorable.

Dr. Gero's Theme (Androids Extended) MIDI

Why did I make this? I am unsure; I just felt like it. I have not beheld any DBZ midis from the dub score, so I decided to make Dr. Gero's Theme. I did the best I could with the beat, but GM MIDI patches are limiting.

Exactly. Orchestra is classic. How can it age?
Poor recordings.

Every single other known DBZ dub in the entire world has the sense to use the original music. It's only North American-produced dubs that ever seem to have a problem. I don't know what that problem is, but "age" is no issue. You know what else the rest of the world embraces? The metric sy...

Re: Why wasn't Falconer's music used for GT?

Of course timbre is essential, but the quality of the patches you guys used for DBZ was never offputting to me. It gave the soundtrack a unique sound.

Best Theme Music for Each Character

Now, this is a sort of game. Choose a character of your preference and name the music from any incarnation of DBZ you think fits that character best and why. I'll start: Dr. Gero - Dr. Gero's Theme (Androids Extended) from the Funimation dub score. The acerbic amalgamation of metal presses and scree...

Re: Would Cell have been loyal to Dr. Gero?

Keep in mind Cell also had little direction from Gero aside from pre-recorded audio tapes. I'm unsure as to the veracity of the dub dialogue, but wasn't Cell essentially soul-searching once he reached his perfect form? Gero gave him only one purpose--to be complete--and once that purpose was fulfill...

Re: Why wasn't Falconer's music used for GT?

The quality of the timbre shouldn't affect the listening experience, in my opinion. I do not mind the synthesized patches.

Re: Why wasn't Falconer's music used for GT?

While I can certainly understand the rapturous devotion to the original score of Dragon Ball Z by longtime fans, the fact of the matter is that the original score aged abysmally over time. Marketing the show to the American market required a fresher sound that delivered superior gravitas, otherwise ...

Would Cell have been loyal to Dr. Gero?

The discourse between Cell and Dr. Gero is indicative of obsequious behavior, and Cell showed no dislike of his creator in the source material. Does this mean that, given Gero's survival, Cell would have followed his command?

Re: Favorite Bruce Faulconer theme

Was there a name for the music that first plays when Kuririn and Gohan are discussing attack strategy behind a rock in "The Fusion"? It also plays when Goku destroys Frieza's barrage of telekinetic rocks. I always loved that piece.

Re: Favorite Bruce Faulconer theme

1. Dr. Gero's Theme (Androids Extended) - This is by far the most sinister track in the whole series. Kudos to Mike Smith and Scott Morgan. 2. Weird Circus 3. Cell's Slow Theme - Dunno who did this one, but it was another wonderfully malevolent piece. 4. Cell Returns 5. Perfect Cell Theme 6. Imperfe...
