I dont remember if it was vegeta or nappa who said that Bardock power level was actually around 940 when Gohan was powering up but it sure wasent bigger than Nappa's. I agree that a dark end would be a good thing to happen in this movie... Something like Goku get his own hand cutted, learn that Bardock is his father and Gohan to get a carbonite bath.
