Re: If you had to estimate your battle power...
I'd say about a 7, until someone on Apex Legends decides to loot a box instead of rezzing me, then I shoot immediately up to super saiyan blue.

Re: Am I the only one who feels like I missed out on Dragon Ball?
I hear that. Not being able to participate in a thing in its prime is disappointing, the community is half the experience. My favorite band of all time is Queen and Freddie Mercury died before I even knew who they were (I'm 35, for the record), so I'll never get to see them perform live as a whole b...

Re: Monica Rial, Jamie Marchi Launch Podcast About Vic Mignogna Defamation Case
"Can't we just give the guy with a two-decades-long rap sheet of sexual harassment allegations the benefit of the doubt? WHAT HAPPENED TO STANDARDS" Vic has never once been either criminally charged nor civilly served for sexual harassment. He has never once been in danger of going to jail...

I like that they included a quote from Greg Doucette on the podcast website. Following him on Twitter through this whole ordeal was an absolute laugh factory.

Re: Your standards on (adult) Goku's voice.
I've said it before but I like Ian James Corlett. The essence of Goku is being able to sell both his serious, heroic moments as well as his doofy, naive moments (without sounding like a complete tool), and I thought Corlett did both of those things well.

Re: Do we expect too much from Dragon Ball?
Wanting a passable narrative with consistent, sensible, relatable character expression and wanting Stein's Gate are two different things. I have not seen a single person say they want the latter out of DB. I want Occultic;Nine Dragon Ball, though! You're getting 17 more iterations of himbo Broly an...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I'd argue that the biggest hurdle in discussing things like the relative goodness/badness of a piece of media is that so many people are there are absolutely terrible at explaining why they do or don't like something. Like, garbage-tier levels of introspection.

Re: Has the focus on Saiyan in the series ruined the entire franchise?
Gohan is a fictional character whose personality can be whatever the writer wants it to be.
He very clearly has the precedent set to be a family man or a fighter.
It makes no sense to not have him be a fighter unless you believe his mere presence to be a detriment to the story.

Re: Has the focus on Saiyan in the series ruined the entire franchise?
What seems to be consistently ignored here is that a lot of people like these characters that are being neglected/misused and actively want to see them in a role that involves more than just taking up space. "They ARE being used in roles that are more than just taking up space." If they we...

Re: How characters trains is as important as how strong the characters are
Agreed completely. In DBZ we got to see a lot of the characters pushed to the absolute brink when training. Goku and Vegeta almost killing themselves in the spaceships with the gravity controls, Vegeta's harrowing ordeal to become a super saiyan, Gohan getting smacked around by Goku during the Cell ...

Re: Has the focus on Saiyan in the series ruined the entire franchise?
Dragon Ball 's original serialization was interesting because Toriyama wasn't afraid to just fucking ditch characters. Lunch? Upa? Sno? Gone. Yamcha? Chaiotzu? Sidelines. Tenshinhan? Weirdly got the Cell and Boo moments. Kinda in-character I guess. I dunno. Conflicted on that. And that's why I thou...

Re: Has the focus on Saiyan in the series ruined the entire franchise?
🤦♂️ 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️ No, I was listing things the characters did to contribute to the “big fights” since you’re so hyper focused on the fighting as if the series is nothing but fight scenes. Gohan actually had a character arc in Super. The series went out of its way to give ...

Re: Has the focus on Saiyan in the series ruined the entire franchise?
Yes because that’s exactly what I said. That is the only thing those characters ever did in Super. Literally nothing else in the entire series. I fucking can’t with you. Why even bother. This is your post. Beerus arc- Goku needs the power of other Saiyans and Videl ends up being a key part of the r...

Re: Has the focus on Saiyan in the series ruined the entire franchise?
I shouldn’t have to explain why Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Chaozu and Piccolo dying in the Saiyan arc still matters to the story I shouldn’t have to explain why Tenshinhan temporarily stopping Cell so 18 can escape is still contributing Those events occurred in Biblical times. It kind of sounds like your ...

Re: Has the focus on Saiyan in the series ruined the entire franchise?
So you're just gonna completely ignore the comparison that I made to Saitama/OPM which addresses everything you just said? While Saitama v. the big bad Boros was going on, you had several of the supporting heroes fighting against Melzargard, a villain of their relative level and one that required pr...

Re: Has the focus on Saiyan in the series ruined the entire franchise?
Which goes back to “Goku is the main character its his story so yes there’s no reason for other characters to be the ones to ultimately defeat the big bad” so yes “waah Kuririn didn’t Kienzan Golden Freeza and send him back to hell in Resurrection F”’ is actually not a valid criticism. It’s just yo...
