Based on the preview Piccolo is really strong and people need to accept that, surely you want him to be powerful and so it is nit just saiyans. Remember that Tagoma and Frieza got powerful by training for a few months.

The picture has goku vegeta and piccolo so maybe its hinting at piccolo having a bigger role( even though it is cut from an old poster).

In super there has been too much Goku and Vegeta, they do all the fighting and they say all the dialogue aswell, in episode 32 piccolo was with them most of the time but hardly said anything. There needs to be more diversity we could have at least seen piccolo train or meditate before the tournament...
