Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
Wanted to grab another visual representation of the reservation count from the trailer (now only 4 less than it should be), but after really looking at it... https://i.imgur.com/b3SIk3k.png This is supposed to be almost 60% of the way completeted but there's no way even 50% of Goku has been colored ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
1749/3000 A day has passed since pre-orders opened up and it's now 58% of the way to the goal. It stands to reason that progress should be slower on the second day but it is the weekend, making it more likely for people that don't work weekends to make their purchases. I believe the goal will be rea...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
Funding progress hasn't been updated in almost 7 hours. I thought it was an automated process but it looks like someone manually updates it.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I just asked the FUNi rep about the atrocious trailer footage and he said “I have no comment at this time.” Ouch! So that hints on the video in this trailer being representative of the final product, huh? Depends on who the rep is. Remember that FUNimation is a major studio that has different peopl...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
Just wanted to say, I truly believe this is more so the doing of Toei Animation than FUNimation. FUNi had no issues releasing older properties like Yu Yu Hakusho and Cowboy Bebop on Blu-ray in great quality. Then there's Toei, responsible for blocking One Piece episodes on Blu-ray because it's not a...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
774/3000. First hour that it didn't exceed 100, only making 62 reservations.
Edit: Never mind. They changed the hourly updates from right on the dot at _:00 to 0:15. So in the span of 15 minutes, it had made 62 reservations. We should have another update in 10 minutes.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
Took this from the trailer (it's 20 more than it should be but it's the best I could do). Goku's boots have now been funded! Will we reach Goku's waistline by dinnertime? Next time on Dragon Ball Z!

479/3000 now. It's growing 100+ an hour. At this rate, it might meet it's goal around this time tomorrow, especially if more people notice this in the evening.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
392/3000 now. I have no doubt this will meet it's goal and even get up to the 6,000 limit. Not everyone owns the Dragon Boxes, so this may very well be the best option some fans have that doesn't compromise the aspect ratio to the extent other releases have. It's not ideal 4:3, but it's being used a...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
You have until early May or before 6,000 units are sold. Whichever happens first. There will be a pre-authorization hold but the actual payment shouldn't be taken until May.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I was indeed wrong about the 4:3 and the price point, but I was right in that the only way it could be 4:3, cheap, and released so quickly, was if they simply reused their existing season remaster sans the crop. Almost surely it'll be missing NEPs, and have the dub-centric presentation of the seaso...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
While I'm sure FUNi will at least try and get permission for it, I have a hard time believing Toei would let them release the broadcast audio. From blocking the TFS cameo in Kai Final Chapters to not allowing Mark de Groot to dub Super's first opening, expecting them to allow the use of an audio tra...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - Announcement & Discussion Thread
Only guilty party I see here are the people milking this information for all it's worth. I'll cut Ajay slack since he only discussed this on Twitter, but Geekdom101 went all out. He made a YouTube video, and promoted it on Twitter as "exclusive" and "you heard it here first". A q...

Re: Geekdom says remasters coming
It's great to see Geekdom101 getting called out. For years, there was something about him I didn't like. He likes to brag about these "inside sources", and from his Twitter activity alone, can be very spiteful towards even the slightest bit of criticism. If he really was above this drama, ...
