Your # of posts is your battle power. Who is the strongest?

I'm surprised I'm still on the fourth page considering my inactivity here - I'd be shocked if more than 200 of my posts had been made this decade.

Seeing that you've only joined very recently, you shouldn't even be in the top 5, let alone even in top 50. 90% of your posts didn't even warrant some discussions. From what I've seen during all of your time here, you treat this message board same as a chat room, and it shouldn't even be treated as such in the first place, at all. There's a reason VegettoEX implemented a rule about making a quality post instead of an one-liner.TheGmGoken wrote:I'm top 5
You created a thread almost 2 years ago about how you were surprised with the people's comments regarding your post count. Why do you think people had a reaction about your posts? It seems to me that even after creating that thread just to ask that question, you didn't care and still went on to rack up post count without a second thought. Is there anything at all that you'd think about how you'd like to expand a discussion by making a quality post? Any interesting point that you want to add to the conversation? So far, you haven't done any of that.
I seriously was thinking the other day that I'd propose a new posting system that if you want to make a post, a minimum of 50 words is required before it is approved to show up on a thread. It makes you think harder to help you contribute a conversation.
But holy crap, I still absolutely cannot, cannot believe that you have over 10,000 posts in a span of 2 years!

There already is one, which is circumvented by quoting material, which counts toward your count.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:I seriously was thinking the other day that I'd propose a new posting system that if you want to make a post, a minimum of 50 words is required before it is approved to show up on a thread. I'm sure there's a workaround for that, but... eh.
How about we just let the moderation team handle the people that make worthless posts, and make it a priority to engage in awesome conversation with the people who are awesome?

Not that there's anything wrong with that idea, but half of Kanzenshuu's awesomeness is derived from its community. If the community feels that there's too much spam going on, maybe it's worth implementing some ideas from the community rather than asking to "please report every shitty post and we'll deal with it". I like the idea that the system makes it harder for users to make a shitty post in the first place.VegettoEX wrote:How about we just let the moderation team handle the people that make worthless posts, and make it a priority to engage in awesome conversation with the people who are awesome?

I agree. Most of Goken's posts are garbage. Like, they literally belong in the trash. Most of the time they're not even worthwhile posts. It annoys me that he's allowed to do that. I know we can report it and the mods will handle it, but sometimes that doesn't feel like enough. Part of me always wants to bring it to the attention of you, Mike. You're the master of this forum so if you tell someone to cut it out, maybe then they'll listen. Goken's been on here for 2 years and he still posts trash. Something really needs to be done about it.

Lord Beerus is like that too. He will just say "This!" after quoting a long post and hardly adds any substance to his post. Sure he seems like a nice guy and all, but comes off way too spammy to me.ShadowDude112 wrote:I agree. Most of Goken's posts are garbage. Like, they literally belong in the trash. We can't read everything. Report these posts. Depending on the situation and context, they will either be warned privately or publicly. There have been plenty of examples lately of "Here's a quote from someone. This? This is not OK." and it seems to be working... but, of course, it depends on the severity and the tact required.

To be fair, Lord Beerus puts some efforts in his posts. He at least uses proper spelling and punctuation. What bugs me is when people type improperly to the point where it is unreadable.Hellspawn28 wrote:Lord Beerus is like that too. Proofreading a post of the average length takes about 5 seconds. Posting incoherent nonsense is inexcusable when you have all the time in the world to come up with something.

Re: Your # of posts is your battle power. Who is the stronge
Hey, hows about we leave this thread and go create conversations that are actually about DragonBall instead of "this person's posts are garbage". O.O
Okay, maybe that's not really fair. I guess I've just never really seen the point of threads like these, or at least the ones- again, like this- that have an initially kindasorta fun topic but invariably degenerate into unnecessary and pointless negativity where folks rag on each other. Post count, whose posts are worthwhile, blah blah blah... it's counterproductive to the forum's true goal, which is to have awesome conversations with awesome people about an awesome show. I'd rather get worked up about actual power levels in DragonBall than argue over fake forum ones by dismissing this person's or that person's collective contributions as worthless.
I guess that's my bit. I dunno, you folks do what you want. O.o

Re: Your # of posts is your battle power. Who is the stronge
I disagree. When someone makes a quick response to literally every one's post, while at the same time racks up the count at the ridiculously high rate, it makes you question their contributions. You will only make it harder for people to take you seriously, especially when 90% of your posts are deprived of proper grammar structure that includes capitalization and proper punctuation. VegettoEX has always reminded us that we should evaluate ourselves as to whether we contribute to a conversation or not. You want them to take you seriously. You want them to understand the point you are trying to make. Rather than trying to make a quick post, we should try to make a quality post that can be enjoyed upon by the awesome folks here at Kanzenshuu. If you can't do at least that, it might be good idea to just not respond to a post at all.Li'l Lemmy wrote:Hey, hows about we leave this thread and go create conversations that are actually about DragonBall instead of "this person's posts are garbage". If you want the community to be an awesome place, it needs to have awesome people who make awesome posts. If half of the people won't try to make awesome posts, it will make VegettoEX's goal a bit harder to achieve.

I couldn't think of a better place to make such an asinine post, so #9001 goes in this thread.

Re: Your # of posts is your battle power. Who is the stronge
Impressive? Maybe. Worthwhile? No.
I've already explained why racking up the post count is not a good thing. Doing that does not help Kanzenshuu become conversate-focused community nor does it encourage people to write good posts.
It's not number of posts that count, but your thought that counts. You want your well thought-out posts to represent the best Dragon Ball message board or any forum in general, for that matter. Bad written posts do not make Kanzenshuu look good.
