Yeah, because they don't go to a higher rank. I remember being even disappointed by the Beerus/Whis fusion stats, since it seemed to just rebalance Beerus' stats, rather than actually significantly powering him up.

I caved and decided to mess around a little in this game today after all. My first impression so far (not very far in at all) is that I'm loving the overall look and presentation of the game - the slightly chibi look of all the characters is kinda refreshing, takes me back to the older GBA game days a bit. I do wish the character creation was a bit more diverse than it is though - no bald head option, and no nose-less face option? That made my job of making 'Kurito' (a male human descendant of Kuririn, as a counterpart to the female one 'Kuriko' I made in Xenoverse/2) a bit more challenging. :P On the flip side though, making the voice selection was a heck of a lot easier than it is in the Xenoverse series. So nice to actually hear a few longer sentences to judge by rather than just attack names and grunts - I even found a voice that kinda sounds a little like Mayumi Tanaka, so it's perfect!

Speaking 'of the races and Xenoverse, are there any points in the game (like even just little dialogue moments) where the game differs between the races at all? Like, for example, when I run into other characters, will they comment on the fact that I'm human?

Patch for the game coming on the 13th, adding a handful of new content.

Here's hoping it also fixes the ass-backwards sword censorship, because I'd really like to pick the game up (again) and dive into it. If not, then I'll probably have some sternly-worded letters and phone calls for Bamco and Nintendo of America...

They limited some visual options in character creation for little reason, aside from wanting the player to fuse with others if they want that (mainly for hair styles), or to keep some elements race specific. For example, there's a noseless face, but it's alien only... and also comes without eyebrows.

I'm certainly sure that they care some twenty-something is mailing and calling them about censoring a kids game.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Zamasu actually is called Zamas in the game... That's kinda disappointing, but not surprising.

Anybody who's grabbed the patch, please let us know post-haste whether the swords have been fixed. 'Cuz if so I will literally go out and buy the game tomorrow.

The sticks/sword thing really makes the game unplayable for you?

Yes. It doesn't matter one bit how "small" it is or how little it affects the gameplay, it's 100% unacceptable. It's unprecedented, it's misplaced (the game is still rated T for crap's sake), and it's an insult to the players' intelligence. Frankly, I'm disappointed that so many people seem to be somehow okay it and are buying and playing the game anyway.

They're okay with it because it doesn't change the core gameplay of the game at all. It's VERY annoying to look at, but it's not that severe.
Dragon Ball /Z/GT/Super is a children's show and there's nothing wrong with that.

You're simply overreacting here Kaboom. Many people here just don't care about the fact that it's a stick, as it does not affect the game play, story, or characters in anyway. It may be all of those, the change is not 100% unacceptable, yes it's stupid, yes it's a dumb choice. But why wouldn't people here be buying a fun, exciting Dragon Ball game, Because of sticks, replacing swords?

Maybe I wasn't clear, but there were no "ifs," uncertainty, or room for debate or disagreement left in what I said. The sword censorship is 1,000,000% unacceptable, and I'm apparently one of the very few who rightly refuses to indulge in it anyway.

If you somehow think the censorship should get a pass because it's "small" or doesn't affect the gameplay, then you're simply in the wrong. Whether you're okay with being in the wrong is up to you, but don't you even try to convince me that it's an acceptable situation or that I'm somehow mistaken in not lying down and accepting it. I'm not okay with having my intelligence insulted, and refuse to indulge in a flawed, soiled excuse for a game that I'd been looking forward to playing for the better part of a year only to have it tainted and ruined by an irresponsible and misguided publisher's absurd decisions.

If you're not going to actually help fix the problem, then at least don't go around making pathetic excuses for your apathy.

I would agree that the sword censorship is beyond stupid, since 1) it's not affected any other Dragon Ball game that I can think of, and I'm fairly sure it's affected NONE of them period; and 2) it certainly hasn't affected any other Nintendo game either that I can think of. Hell, two of their flagship titles, The Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem, are FULL of swordplay! Literally the only possible reason I can think of for the censorship in this case is hat it's a game where our custom characters can do them, characters that they probably expect some kids will use to essentially 'make themselves' into the game. So they didn't want any kids 'slicing each other up', or...something...yeeaaaahhhh, it's still beyond stupid if that's the reasoning, but I'm struggling to try and come up with SOMETHING that could explain it.

Now, that all said though, I disagree on the extent of it being enough to outright 'ruin' a game. That's the same thing as people thinking the lack of blood and holes in people in modern day Dragon Ball is somehow affecting it's story in a way so as to make it unenjoyable. If that's all it took to render something no longer in your field of interests, then one would have to question how into it someone really was - at least, that'd be my gut reaction anyway. I can still play and enjoy the game, as can anyone else, and it doesn't make them 'wrong' or any lesser of a fan because of it, no matter how strongly one feels about the sword censorship issue (which I again completely agree is about the stupidest censoring DB as a franchise has received since Tenshinhan's 'Just wait until it grows back!' arm).

Speaking of playing the game though, that DLC that came out today - I think I saw something buzzing around about there being limited availability on it? Not that it won't still be up, but more like if you don't progress to that point in the game to take advantage of it before a certain date, you won't be able to at all? Please tell me that's in no way true - I'm still not very far into the game yet. :?

2017 truly is a polarizing time. Maybe it is just me, but for me? Swords? I think they should be uncensored. But if you censor them that is OK too. I tolerate that.

Pretty cool update though. Gomasu is adorable. And now that I have assembled my Zamasu team I should look up how to purposely unlock moves...Also, unless I'm mistaken there is still no way for us to get the QR characters so I guess those will remain exclusive to Japan.

The Ziku-kan Quests (three Zamasu based story quests) are given an expiration date. The expiration date is mid-January of 2017 though so I think you should be fine.

I know it's wrong and shit, but it's such a fun game I'll look past it. I know I really hate it....but I can overlook it if the game is fun enough, despite it being so stupid and wrong. There is no defending that stupid censorship.
