What kind of scores do Dragonball Games get out of the U.S.?

Post by Anonymous Friend » Sat Oct 07, 2006 8:08 pm

I know in America Dragonball games (or even most Anime games in general) get some average and below average scoring. And some of these games deserve them, but what do the rest of the world, particularly Japan, think of them?

I know that Sparking! NEO just got a score of 27/40 from Famitsu. I'm ASSUMING that Budokai 3 got higher then that, but I'm not really sure.

This is off-topic, but check out what Famitsu gave perfect scores to. You figure out the reason those games got those impossible scores, and than I hope you'll realize what those rating-ers are looking for. (I sure haven't figure it out yet! And I'm about to say that they are biased :?) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famitsu

Vagrant Story got a 10, yet Majora's Mask and Resident Evil 4 didn't? Also, Famitsu loves Final Fantasy doesn't it.

Japan, in general, loves Final Fantasy....& Dragon Quest.

Most of them don't get reviewed in the Australian magazines I flick through. Someone complained to them about not reviewing Budokai 3, the response was something like "well, it is better, but we don't like Dragonball Z at all!!"
... Maybe later.

I never saw a DBZ game review again after Electronic Gaming Monthly reviewed Ultimate Battle 22. Great going Atari, releasing that piece of crap.

Wasn't A) Atari still using it's true name Infogrames back then? and B) The DBZ license still with Bandai?

GameTM gave Shin Budokai 6/10, and the less said about some of the UK Official PS2 Magazine's reviews the better.

Vagrant Story deserves a 10.
No doubt it is a good game, but what I'm saying is that if Majora'a Mask and RE4 doesn't get a 40, then Vagrant Story shoudn't get a 40.

Oh well, deep down in my heart, many games are 40's.

Don't you mean 40 instead of 30?
