I started to do a series of Yamamoto Ripoff videos to further illustrate the already know plagiarisms. Some I already knew like the Avatar: War -> (Ebb and The Flow) ripoff. With others like Captain Tsubasa 3 Germany Theme -> Yushi no Gaisen ripoff as pointed out by the thread. Figured this could fit in this thread to further illustrate what you guys have discovered.

No.1: Yushi no Gaisen:

No.2: Ebb and The Flow:

Hmm, I remember when I first heard the song "Prince of Darkness" by Megadeth a couple of years ago, I swore it sounded familiar. I played Budokai 3 after that, and realized that one of the riffs used in the song is very much like Ultimatum. Prince of Darkness was released in 1999, a good number of years before Budokai 3, but I seriously doubt there's a connection at all. Just something my ear accidentally picked up on, I suppose. Maybe you'll hear what I mean:

Ultimatum: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYBc7eyM ... re=related
Prince of Darkness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKSrOSBYN44#t=2m32s (I chose this video, because of the obvious DBZness and Vegeta being the subject, which is fitting.)

Where was it confirmed that he composed the background music for the game?
I'm listening to these tunes, and they just don't sound Yamamoto quality to me....

The soundtrack CD got immediately cancelled after his scandal and the BGM in the actual game has been altered recently. Also, listen to the theme song, which was composed and arranged by Yamamoto as well. It has the same synth instruments as the background music has.

Just found another rip-off from Budokai 3. The beginnings of both songs is where they sound the most similar.

Budokai 3 - Over the Galaxy

Elton John - Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting

Was Shura-Iro no Senshi a Yamamoto piece? Because it sounds strangely like Michael Jackson's Bad. O.o

EDIT: Just checked Kanzentai. Woah, it is a Yamamoto piece! O.o

Yes, that song was composed and arranged by Yamamoto, and yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Edit: in addition, the beginning of the song reminds me of Smooth Criminal, too.

Found another rip-off from one of Budokai 3's overworld themes. This one is clearly recognizable from the rhythm guitar:

Budokai 3 - Hurricane Challenger (Example #1)

Velvet Revolver - Do It For the Kids (Example #1)

They also sound somewhat alike here as well, though not as obvious as the first example:

Budokai 3 - Hurricane Challenger (Example #2)

Velvet Revolver - Do It For the Kids (Example #2)

I was just about to post that exact same thing. Dammit. :P

While they're essentially identical, there's a good chance "Hurricane Challenger" was written before Velvet Revolver's album was released. Although Libertad was released in June of 2004, months before Budokai 3 in November of that year, the soundtrack to Budokai 3 was recorded only as late as January 2004 (judging by Steve Lukather, session guitarist for the tracks, who commented on it after the back.

Also, Shiyonasan, just pointing out--you posted the same example twice. :)

I posted that example twice because I pointed out two different parts in the songs where they matched up. I guess I should've been more specific in the names of the links.

I'll go ahead and edit that.

Here's another possible inspiration:

Metallica - Through the Never:

Kenji Yamamoto - Hand-in-Hand Fight:

The guitar rhythms are basically the same.

Just playing Budokai 2 and noticed at least 2 Black Sabbath things. On is Zero The Hero and the second is from one of the older LP's with Ozzy, but I can't remember now.

Yet another mainstream American metal band has been ripped off. This time, from the nu metal genre:

Slipknot - The Nameless

Infinite World - Kaleidoscopic

Guys check out the song "Man called C" Some of the background chords later in the song sound like Spiderman music by Danny Elfman.

Here's one I found out about just now; I don't know if it's been posted already.

"Royal Guard" from Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22
"Eye to Eye" Image song from Yu Yu Hakusho

So then I did a bit of Googling and it turns out...
Lyricist = Kojima Takashi
Composer / Arranger = Yamamoto Kenji
Singer = Hiyama Nobuyuki (Hiei), Chiba Shigeru (Kuwabara Kazuma), Ogata Megumi (Kurama)
keyboards & programming: Yamamoto Kenji
guitar: Furukawa Nozomi
Wow, did he actually compose anything new for UB22? :P
I'm Rosie (she/her). My username is a chuuni holdover from nearly two decades ago

Just wondering, are there any songs that we have yet to determine if they are/we think they are infringing or not?

This game was released in... 2006? I think.
It's mainly that leap to perfect 8th that's making you think that way. It sounds mildly similar, but everyone is "inspired" by something. Copying a chord progression or a short rhythmic sequence isn't stealing.

Ok, well, the Dragon Ball song...I can't find a Youtube video of it. :(

But a quick question as well, did Yamamoto work on any of the images songs? If so...

The beginning of "Hey you, crasher" from Hit 16 and the 4th Complete Song Collection set, sounds JUST LIKE the beginning of "Parasite" by KISS.

Here's the KISS song:
