I take issue with this. I've heard plenty of Schemmel's Goku in the redub and recall him from the last part of DB. It was still pretty awful.

His Goku is noticably better here than there (at least, based on the clips I've seen). Though it's only worked it's way up to "tolerable" to me. I wouldn't say he's the best voice for the character, but he doesn't sound like he's forcing himself anymore. But the script could be an element of that.
I doubt anyone will sound more fitting than Nozawa, but I assume you meant English voice actors.

At least we're getting the best performance out of what we already have. He could have just phoned it in and been just as bad as the original Z run-through.

He's trying, let's give him that. And it's a hell of a lot better and not forced this time around.

Hey, I'm not knocking it. I'm actually fairly pleased with what I've heard recently.

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

I still don't see how you can possibly watch the UUC, end of Dragon Ball, Movies 8-13, and the video games, then watch Kai and possibly notice any difference in his voices.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I know, it's the strangest thing...yet, I've watched almost all of the things listed above (with one or two of the movies being an exception), and his voice definitely as a more innocent quality to it. At least, I hear it.

His 23rd Tenka'ichi work sounds like he's struggling to speak or scream. Not so much here.

I also feel like his performance wasn't quite up to par at the end of Dragon Ball. I've been working closely with my video files of that part of the series recently.

I've not really seen the UUE, and it's been ages since I've seen the end of Dragonball, but I do have Budokai 1 through to BT3, and seen plenty of clips of BL and RB and I notice a distinct difference in Vegeta especially, but in Goku and Piccolo as well. It's a bit subtle at times, but unmissable just the same.

Unless the big news airs on TV before then. :P

Though, if it's something this board will like as a whole, I suppose the chance of it being on the edited TV version is slim.

I realize that it's nice to know that "something" is coming, but again, it kinda pisses me off that some people know and the majority of us don't. I mean, geez. Why mention it in the first place? It's not a huge tease anymore, but it still ain't fair. >_>

They're just telling us to look forward to something, is all. Whatever it is, it's something we shall apparently like. This something is looking to be on the next set's episodes, which is only four months away, less depending upon how Nicktoons runs the episodes.

Sabat still wasn't at his best at the end of Dragonball. It was hard to tell the difference between his loud Vegeta laugh and his loud Piccolo laugh for one.

Does Vegeta still offer for Goku to team up with him before they battle, or has this been changed to something more appropriate? What's the dialogue there?

~Da Lemmy
Not there yet, however Vegeta does use "It's over 8,000!" instead of "9000"

Anybody have any direct questions about the dub itself?
They do indeed keep Tri-Beam...
Going to watch episodes 10-13 straight thru then ill say what i think of the dub..
The dub is not bad by any stretch.. Sabat sounds different for each character he dubs also..
Even king kai hes less snarly... each character sounds so much calmer and serious.
I think it's a very good dub so far... my opinion.
On to watch 10-13...
Have there been any "bigger" swear words, such as bitch, bastard, or shit?

Is there anything you really dislike, or kinda wish was changed?
When I heard Cook's Raditz in the clips, I thought he was kinda off compared to the UUC. What'd you think?
Bastard has been used a few times, yes.. No bitch or shit tho.. so far I'm on episode 12 tho.
I thought Raditz sounded very good, as do all the actors..
The voice work is pretty good.

Yes, he doesnt say any of that in the dub.. I forget what he says at the moment, but after I'm done this i can go back n rewatch real quick..
I believe its something about the training and all that, whatever was said is better than,"monkey" and all that stuff. ha

Well apparently Kayo-ken is used when Goku goes after nappa... then he says KAIO-ken when he's talking to krillin right after.
Probably for the edited version maybe??

~Da Lemmy

The Dialogue is pretty much word for word as in what is said int he Japanese version.
How lower class warriors are sent to planet with weaklings, how vegeta is a super-elite, etc.
