Kai Blu-Rays Parts Or Seasons?

I'm thinking of buying Kai, but what should I buy? I don't care music wise. Amazon has most of the parts cheap in the marketplace. The only ones that aren't are 2-4, so pretty much the entire Freeza arc. I just need an opinion on what's better.

Since you don't care about the music then go with the Season boxes as the only difference is that the music is all from the replacement Kikuchi.

FUNimation better jump straight to the Season boxes for The Final Chapters because there's no point still using Parts and they're very likely not going to be naming it "Season 5" or "Part 9" because the episodes commence from the beginning.

I think I remember that one of Freeza's lines changed to a Toonzai line in Season 2. I also think the Insert Songs are instrumental for Season 2.

^Don't take my word for it, but I browsed through a few old threads recently, and I'm pretty sure the "instrumental insert songs" thing only applies to the TV version. The Frieza line change is correct, though. It appears to have been a minor goof. This is not the case on the DVD. I myself plan on getting the Season Sets after finishing GT. Also, seconded on those sets for The Final Chapters. They've had plenty of time, so I'd expect them to release it faster after waiting so long.

I also think the Insert Songs are instrumental for Season 2.

According to the "Kikuchi and Ginyu Tokusentai?" thread, only the Saiyan Blood song was omitted from that portion. The only other one removed from Kai, as far as I know, is News of the Cell Games.

^That makes sense, as these were composed by Yamamoto. The others have nothing to do with him and were left alone. I heard something about echoes in the Ginyu scene, though. Could anyone who has this elaborate?

Apparently what happened is that in the Kikuchi version of Episode 28 you can hear both the Japanese & English versions of Sanjou! Ginyu Tokusentai.

^I believe that was also an edited version. I remember seeing that clip myself. I hope that doesn't apply to the DVD because that's a major flaw.

I decided to go with the parts as I found Part 2 at MovieStop for $11.99 which is a steal.

The "Parts" aren't too hard to get, even the discontinued Parts 1, 2, & 3 can be found for a reasonable price.

However, Part Four was the last one released with the Yamamoto score, and was discontinued what feels like very shortly after its release. So, that one will run you a bit more cash to get a hold of. At least the Blu-Ray version; I don't know, but I think the DVD release of Part Four is quite a bit cheaper.

You can get Parts 5-8 anywhere. Amazon tends to have their prices fluctuate between $16-$25 new.

The Parts 5-8 even on Blu-ray don't hold a candle because there's nothing of value that they have which the Seasons don't, so at that stage it's pointless to own the Parts unless you've got 1-4 and don't want to have an unfitting collection on your shelf.

I paid $20 for Part 4, $10 for 1 & 5 & $17 for 3. 3 was on half. Com & the other 3 on Amazon.
