Franchise movies typically have six months allowed for animation. That'll be six months with a lot of shuffling around, especially since new series are beginning during this time and core staff will change. The talent available for future episodes will shrink and shrink, even more so than now. This doesn't even have to refer to good animators, we'll have less average or bad animators to help push the schedule along and make it easier for higher-quality episodes to happen.

I know. It's just difficult because Toei's favoritism for One Piece is so strong. I can't help feeling Super is doomed to episode 5 levels one production on the new OP movie starts.

I'm not too worry about the animation for future episodes since they can still look good. Besides it's the story that matters the most. There are shows with bad animation with good plots and characters. U6 saga should be good seeing that Toriyama is writing it.

If they use the logical sense they could make a lot of money putting much more effort in DBS episodes instead of focusing in anime that it is just popular in Japan because 4Kids screw the fuck up here

And it's got to coincide with the brand new arc in Super too. T_T

It's be one thing if it were coinciding with the BOG and F recap arcs, but it's the new one. They couldn't even wait until next December the way they did the last two times.

Waiting for the blu rays feels so consolatory. The world is still gonna see the unfinished tv version first.

There are movies, shows and comics with bad art that still tell a good story. It's like special effects in movies, you don't need to have amazing looking CG to be good. Western animated shows like King of the Hill never had good animation to begin with, but it was still a funny show from start to finish in my opinion. Rick and Morty has animation that looks like it was made in the early 2000's, but a lot of people love it for it's good writing.

Yeah, that's possible.
I am not going to bother worrying about the visual quality of episodes that aren't even going to air until next year.

Toei will obviously take advantage of this success.

Still excited for DBS, in particular Toriyama's new arc planned for this series, just hurry up with the re-telling of BOG/ROF.

To be fair, One Piece is a longer series than DB, so it's going to sell more. But DB had more sales/book.

Seeing how episode 5 turn out, it must be some Super Blu-rays then...
Even so, I can't accept another episode 5. The animation doesn't need to be perfect, but shouldn't be poop either. I loved all the other Super episodes. (Episode 4 had a bad style with that bold linearts, but it was overall good)
