Freezer wants to blow up Cheelai's ship but Gogeta stops him.

Not saying you're wrong but Beerus has been such a huge benchmark for so long that I'd like a little more fanfare than a single line that's open to interpretation.

Goku's not comparing him to his personal experience with Beerus. Goku already knows that he's never fought Beerus at full power. They talked power scaling in comparison to Beerus in the show later on. It makes no sense for Goku to say Broly might be stronger than reserved Beerus in BoG, knowing perfectly well that Beerus is a lot stronger than that.

Agreed on that. Actually I'm sort of expecting some sort of showdown between Beerus and Goku at the beginning of Super's continuation, if there'll be any. He can't be surpassed just like that.
Still, in my book, Beerus' power has been inflated wayyyy too much. He should've been claimed surpassed the moment Jiren showed his full power.
