May someone be interested in BGM + Soundeffects?

Post by chungohan » Wed May 01, 2013 3:59 am

Hello! First of all, sorry for my english, as I'm spanish.

I don't know if someone could be interested in this. Probably not at all, but well... maybe some collector?? :D

Randomly enough, I came across 3 o 4 DBZ episodes without any dub. I mean, with the music and the soundeffects perfectly clear, but no dub at all.

Not specially interesting episodes, dough. Does it have any value?

Thanks!

Out of curiosity what episodes do you have specifically?
If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out. ;).

The English 5.1 dub has channels that are only music & effects. Perhaps the episodes you found are just the 5.1 dub with the voice channel cut out?

What would be really interesting is if someone could find an audio track with just the music isolated.

I didn't know anything about the english dub. Maybe this matherial is exactly the same as those 5.1 channels. Do the english dub have the original japanese OST?

Basically, what I have is the track of music & effects (alias soundtrack) that is used to dub the episodes. It's mono, and with the japanese soundtrack. It's the original matherial dated from 1994 that was sent to the TV for dubbing purposes, and in an analogic reel format. It can be converted to digital, obviously. But probably nowadays it does not have neither collectible value, but I don't know.

Wow, I'm really interested in that. I'd definitely buy all the tapes from you if I had some money now..

If you want, I can upload an episode of what I'm refering to so you can se what it exactly is (or it would be ilegal? if it's ilegal, I can send it if you send me an MP, and if it's illegal or against forum rules too, then sorry, I will not upload it).

I did convert an episode to digital when I discovered what it was, then synched it with the video to see if it exactly fits (and it did).

Sadly, those are not "tapes" that could be easily converted. Those are old big reels with only audio track, no video. They have to be converted analogicaly with a revox struder (an expensive machine) to digital, not just a normal VHS, then synched to the episode itself. That's why I also asked if those are of any value, cause of the cost of converting them (and if it is really of interest of anyone, I may try to find more episodes, but now only have the ones I mentioned and don't want to do useless job, of couse ;)).

I know, and they're still reel-to-reel audio tapes (I guess you mean they're not cassettes). I think they're pretty valuable because you can use them to extract voices from dubs.

I don't think they can be used to extract any dub.

If you want to extract the voices via the methode of "inverting" the "music & effects" track and playing it over the dubbed one, it would only work if they are EXACTLY at the same speed. And sadly, at least with the machine I used to convert the reel to digital, it's nearly impossible to get a precise constant speed that makes this work...

Well, I can do that. Anyway, you can also use them for some fandub stuff.

Fandub is probably worth it but not the money it would cost to extract them...

Well how much was you looking to get for them because we might be able to help with the costs (if doing so isn't against forum rules that is)

Each episode if some piece of work, and I'm not sure also about the rules of distributing this kind of matherial via "crowdfunding"...
