Man, I must have placed my order with Amazon just in time because so far it hasn't been delayed or canceled or anything. I placed my order Tuesday night and so far my order status says it should be shipping Nov. 23rd. Here's hoping it actually gets sent out by then and I don't have to wait any longer.

I placed mine last night and got it today. Anyway, you probably won't have a problem.Milton wrote:Man, I must have placed my order with Amazon just in time because so far it hasn't been delayed or canceled or anything. A pox on you and your overnight shipping.Freeza Heika wrote:I placed mine last night and got it today. Well, that's good to know anyway. Now to just sit back and play the waiting game.
...ehh, the waiting game sucks. Let's play Hungry, Hungry Hippos!

Truth be told, you can't expect people to follow 78 (at the time) pages of text. Especially if someone just "joined the conversation". I understand if it was 2 pages, and it doesn't really happen on here, but I hate it when you go to a Forum with like 100 pages in the Thread and you ask something and they say things like, "UH DUH WE ALREADY DISCUSSED THISSSSS!!! Page 42."nathantheguitarist wrote:I feel like I'm the only who's followed this entire thread.
The peeling label thing was discussed pages ago. It happened to me as well. I super glued mine though, and more or less kinda made it worse. It's got some texture to that part now...
Well, I'm sure it wouldn't be up to this far. If some people stopped posting every minor detail. Everyone feels the need to update us with their shipping updates on when they are getting their Dragonbox every other day. Or they have to notify us they are getting it. Then they feel they have to notify us when it has arrived. Oh well, I'm sure it's just the excitement.TheGreatness25 wrote:Truth be told, you can't expect people to follow 78 (at the time) pages of text. Especially if someone just "joined the conversation". I'm just saying though. I doubt it would be up this far.

Well, I finally received my Dragon Box from Amazon (and will order further ones only from TRSI).
Effing thing is immaculate. Everything is in great shape, the quality of the video is enough to make me tear up. The booklet is neat. The discs are pristine. The audio synced up in the dub, even (apparently, from the little I could stand of the dub).
I was singing along to "Cha La Head Cha La" and "Zenkai Power" like I was a kid again.
Today... is a good day.

I know, right? Its not like people have any reason to be excited or anything about getting an actual quality release from FUNi for a change.SSVegetto wrote:Well, I'm sure it wouldn't be up to this far. I know it's the excitement. But I just find it funny. First they tell us they ordered it. Then they tell us again in another post when it's coming. Then the next day they tell us when it's coming. Then they tell us it has finally arrived.XanatosVanBadass wrote:I know, right? Why not just order it. Then wait for it to arrive. And then state that you received it and you liked it for etc reasons. Why make 3-5 separate posts of every minor update? It's all cool though haha. It's nice to see people excited about it.
People are allowed to channel their excitement by giving updates. If you don't like it... ignore it? Don't read the thread? I dunno what to say.

I know, I have no problem with it. I'm just pointing it out. I said it was cool that they were excited. Did you read what I wrote? I wouldn't hold out much hope. Japan is R2 so it may well have been a requirement from Toei in order to combat imports from the US to Japan.MRDA wrote:On a related-yet-different note, I'm wondering, all of a sudden, if the removal of R2 coding on the discs is a foretaste of good news for UK DBZ fans: could the set see release here? You don't really need to point it out then. It's the Dragon Box; obviously people are excited they're getting it.SSVegetto wrote:I know, I have no problem with it. I'm just pointing it out. Yeah, I thought that piece of paper on the bottom of the set was supposed to come off like the promotional paper on the back. Fortunately I realized my error before tearing the paper, once I noticed the bare cardboard on the box.
The main problem I have with the Dragon Box is the disc hubs. I'm sure others have noticed, but they are particularly stiff. It can take quite a bit of doing to free certain discs. In attempting to release Disc 6, I lightly tore the outside foil (note that it's not a good idea to completely flatten the DVD cases). I also put a crack in the hub of Disc 4. And I try to be gentle with these things, honest.
The DVD cases look great, but for me, the aesthetics aren't worth the possibility of snapping a disc in half trying to free it from the packaging. I bought some 6 disc DVD cases; one of those will fit nicely with the Dragon Book in the original outer box.

Well, they did the overlapping disc thing with the FMA DVD sets, and I got used to it via those. I wish Funimation would stop using that approach.
