Akira Toriyama's Pre-Dragon Ball works
Hi
I'm new to this forum and I was wondering where I can find Akira Toriyama's Pre-Dragon Ball works, 'Dragon Boy' and 'Tanpuu's Great Adventure'. Is there a site online that offers scans of these manga? or is there legal way of buying it that I can get it in english?
I wanna find and read these manga because they offer Dragon Ball fans insight into where Akira Toriyama came up with his concepts for the Dragon Ball series. As far as I know, both these manga are incomplete but I would love to read these manga for the sake of comparing Toriyama's drawing style, storyline and his sense of humour.
Please note that I am Australian.
Cheers, Dylanmorgan17!

And the other thing you asked for it's this right?
I could scan some pages I guess, but translations and stuff like that, I can't do.

If you read French, Glénat translated the three volumes (called ''Les Histoires Courtes d'Akira Toriyama'') and Hetappi. You can buy those just about anywhere that sells Glénat's titles, while I recommend Amazon for online sources. Dr Slump is also translated by VIZ in English.

Those are from the Dragonball 冒険 Special (Adventure Special) [1987], and have also been reprinted in Toriyama collections.dylanmorgan17 wrote:Thanks a heap mate. Did you buy that online?

Is Dragon Boy really as proto-Dragon Ball as that screen shot makes it look? I mean, I know most of the similarities between the two but to see it on paper like that, dang.

If I remember correctly, Tanpuu's the one that has 'Bulma' and 'Goku', while Dragon Boy has a mixture of characters with traits from Goku, Chi-Chi, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Puar, Oolong, and Kamesennin.
My copies of each came in one of those short story Toriyama collection books that I bought at Kinokuniya. I'm pretty sure it was the 2nd of the three collections that came out.
Prototype works like these are fascinating to me. X3
