Naruto and Bleach are hated nowadays with good reason. They REALLY let themselves go.
That's what people say about Toriyama's manga series too. :o
that's just there opinion but in reality dragon ball in it's final arc didn't go down hill like what's happining with naruto and bleach's final arcs :

dbz's anime quality got better with the buu arc unlike naruto and bleach where bleach got canclled and naruto's quality has signifcantly decreased

dragon ball's manga sales didn't go down with the buu arc unlike naruto and bleach who went from big 3 to barely being able to be in the top 10

i just hope one piece and fairy tail don't end up like them

Fairy Tail already has.

However, I've never seen anyone say that Dragon Ball really let itself go after a certain point, and that eventually lost what made it good, its charm and just became boring and a drag and a pain to watch, way inferior to what came before and barely recognizable in terms of quality (which is basically what its being said about Naruto and Bleach and its basically true). At least not regarding any of the arcs of DBZ. DBGT is another matter.

So, they are just basically arguing which arcs they consider superior and whatnot. Its very different from what I was saying, in my opinion.
Nope, I've seen people say the series jumped the shark and that anything after it was bad. Lots of people dislike the Cell Saga and especially the Buu Saga. Then you get people saying the show went to shit when it became DBZ, similar to how people say Naruto became shit when it became Shippuden.
Well, IMO they are wrong. There's nowhere near such a decrease in quality like there is in Bleach or Naruto. Its not even comparable. If they feel that way about how Dragon Ball played out, then they would have to consider Naruto and Bleach an abomination to be coherent.

Fairy Tail has been considered "softcore porn with some generic plot somewhere in the background that's not worth paying attention to" pretty much since it started.

Yeah, but that has become exponentially worse. Like many times worse. The plot is more generic and inconsequential than ever and pretty much every single chapter has way too much blatant "fan service".

Who cares what other people say? If you like something, that should be a good enough alone. A lot of people compare DB to other anime, why not just compare DB to anything, meaning, any other fictional work of art, it doesn't have to be an anime. DB is a very likable series, with a set of characters who are all individually different and unique, and I'll always like it no matter who says what.

Toriyama has even admitted that sometimes he made the story up as he went along, which doesn't change anything for me, most authors really do this, at least he had the balls to tell us, take shows like Lost for example, which apparently was all pre-written, I still never found out where the fucking polar bears came from but there you go. Toriayama may well have made things up as he went along, but he done it with style, and covered up lots of plot holes, and tried his best to make it look natural. I'd say for a guy who did the art, and story line and worked under pressure, he done well.

I really like how lifelike characters are at times, and the way situations unfold, even when Kami lied to Goku in DB about using the DB's to revive him even if he died, and then Goku revealing after that he lied since the Dragonballs would disappear if he died, even I thought hold on, that's a mistake and then once Goku realises it makes sense. There's loads of little things I notice and think, I like how that was handled, I can't recall them all now but bottom line is, Toriyama is a good story teller and DB is a good piece of work, don't be put of by other people's opinions.

Yea it's pretty bad. I can't take a series like that seriously. Shameless fanservice. It's tasteful and funny when it's used in Dragon Ball and One Piece. Fairy Tail is ecchi before it's shonen and I don't like nor can I respect it trying to be shonen when there's so much meaningless fanservice.

Even Bleach surprised me with it's recent frontal nudity, but hey if Toriyama did it! :P

I think Kubo got away with that due to the fact he didnt draw nipples on Masaki.

As for Fairy Tail, I enjoy the manga. The ecchi and fanservice dont really bother me at all. What gets under my skin is the "power of feelings" notion. One example is Erza VS Minerva in the Grand Magic Games. Erza has no magic left, a broken leg under some rubble, and backed into a corner with her friend held hostage yet SOMEHOW pulls a super powerful armor out of nowhere cause she gets pissed off. I enjoy Fairy Tail for its notion of family and how they do everything in their power for each other, makes you wish you had friends like them.

Though Sting killing the old guildmaster of Sabertooth for killing his cat always puts a smile on my face, ill admit to that.

I've only watched the first volume, but does Fairy Tail really get that much fanservicy? Vol. 1 didn't really have any unless you count midriff-baring and Grey having no shirt (fanservice for the ladies I guess there). And trailers I've seen for other volumes didn't really show any just focusing on the action, and this is Funimation who usually will milk fanservice in trailers big time.

The anime is pretty tame compared to the manga, at least early on. Even in the "uncut" versions, when Lucy is in the tub, she still has a towel on. They also removed smoking in a lot of scenes (something I dont mind at all) but as the series progresses, yeah the fanservice gets turned up to 11 if not 20.

Okay one thing that REALLY bother me about this topic(No offense) is this
It also doesn't help how DBZ is nothing more than a laughing stock amongst the more "hardcore" anime fans who've seen shows with exceptional writing and character depth.
.

Who gives a fuck what anime fans think about other anime fans. Seriously the anime community is a piece of shit. I'm sorry. The "hardcore" fans, They complain about anything popular(Watch in 10 years where there is a new Big 3), bash damn near any dub no matter how accurate(Even the DeathNote dub), One minute they like something but then something becomes cool to hate so now they hate it, and they take anime to seriously. Serious they asked for SUBS on Toonami instead of dub. Okay I understand in real life people might laugh at you for watching anime but honestly dbz is one of the more accepted anime(s) to non anime fans. On the internet. Just fuck the fans. Sorry I don't mean ALL fans I mean those fans who change their opinion because it's the cool thing to do. I bet damn near all of those hardcores fans you're(Because I honestly never seen a lot of dbz hate.) seen are undercover DBZ fans who never even saw DB and claim they know everything about DBZ. I bet you they never watched DBGT yet they say it sucks.

I bet they have a damn good collection of DBZ dvds-blue rays and even voted for a 16:3 Blueray. I bet they want to see BoG. I bet they always say "IT"S OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!" despite preferring sub anime. So in all due respect if you feel you should't like DBZ because some "hardcore" anime fans bash it because DBZ is popular then shame on you.
