The difference is that no one cared that Namek exploded
Freeza blew up earth, Vegeta died, Freeza wins. That's what seemingly happened. Doesn't matter if Vegeta was beating a weakened Freeza before that, in the end Freeza killed him. Freeza didn't win on Namek as Goku left him for dead, and Goku survived. If not for King Cold, Freeza would have died right then and there.
If not by aliens Goku dies....

Goku lost his fight, no denying that. Freeza won that battle. Vegeta did not beat Freeza as Freeza could still fight and ended up killing Vegeta, ergo Freeza won. Then time was turned back so Goku could beat a weakened Freeza. So Goku won there.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

I'm just glad the casual/majority fans don't feel this way. Vegeta fans are mad, but Goku fans definitely didn't want him jobbing twice after finally returning for new stuff after so long.

By time standards yes, but by record he beat Goku, and then managed to kill Vegeta before he could be killed. That's 2 wins in my book. Freeza won the battles, but Goku won the war.

This reminds me how much better all DB hair/designs work when the character has tail intact and in the same color. Both Toei and Toriyama never made it consistient when the tail changes the color and when it doesn't, wish they made it consistient from now on.
Maybe what that dude meant when he said "Frieza lost the battle, but won the war" was that he actually did manage to defeat Goku and Vegeta, and blow up the Earth. He got his revenge. It just so happened these guys are ****ing cheaters and no longer have any pride--unless they were holding back, and that's where blue SSJG comes in. : D

Nothing actually new about that we discussed that video on March 20th. There's even a few more after that 4th trailer (like the 5th) that reveal more fighting and what not.
