Meh. The incentives don't really seem that enticing to me.

If you have a "got anime"subscription you can buy the collecters set for 32 bucks off RightStuf. That's a steal to me, though they really don't give you much compared to the Japanese releases.

I'm assuming the collector's edition comes with the Blu-ray + DVD combo pack? Or just the Blu-ray?
EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. I just wish there wasn't a huge blatant spoiler for people who didn't get the chance to see it in theaters like my friend.

Aside from a slipcover, digipak, and postcards, the list of bonus features for the combo pack and the "collector's edition" combo pack are exactly the same.

So, either...

A.) The "collector's edition" has additional bonus features that have yet to be confirmed.

Or...

B.) FUNi's charging an extra $25 MSRP for a slipcover, digipak, and postcards.

The latter is absolutely insane. I'm aware that these prices drop drastically online and in stores, but I didn't expect more than a $15 MSRP difference for packaging alone. I'll probably just get the normal combo pack if the CE doesn't get any additional bonus features.

Rightsuf are charging the Collectors Edition at $35.74, that is $13 more then the standard seems like a good deal to me.

If the CE's bonus content is on the Blu-Ray (which will be region locked) then it will influence my decision, as I'll give it a miss, because I won't be able to watch them.
If they're on the DVD, then I'll get it, as my DVD player, is region free. With my cash already tied up to the Japanese CE and the Manga UK Blu-Ray, I'm going to weigh up if this is worth it for me, as if I can't watch the bonus content, then it seems pointless.

The extras that come with the CE aren't worth the extra price, not that it will probably affect those in UK anyway as we'll likely get different versions.

The Voices and Return of DBZ features might be interesting to watch but you can always just watch that on YouTube.

If the only bonus features turn out to be different packaging and the cards, then I'll just be sticking with the standard combo pack myself. I'll be keeping an eye on the CE for a bit though before placing my order.

Did anyone else have a problem with the way the dub portrayed Goku?

Both the Japanese and Latino dubs showcased him as overconfident, but still calm.

In the FUNI dub he comes off as a super cocky jerk. I like Schemmel fine, but he really didn't receive good direction.

Goku came off the same way that he always is.

I hope the collector's edition isn't just a new case and some postcards. That feels like a huge waste. They could have done something better. I'll hold off on this until it's confirmed there's more. If not, it's the combo pack for me.

FUNi's trailer pretty much confirms it.

"Over 50 minutes of extra features only available on collectors editions and blu-ray versions."

Very strongly implies that they'll be the same. You're paying a premium for a digipak, a slipcover, and postcards with the "Frieza" spelling on them.

I'll be sticking with the normal blu-ray combo pack unless something changes. I'll have the same platter of bonus features and it'll look more consistent with my "Battle Of Gods" blu-ray. I had forgotten that Nozawa was at the American premiere. That'll be a fun featurette to watch.

Man, October 20th is Dragon Ball day. A new movie on home video and a new 3DS game!

The LOOK of the Collector's Edition is tempting, but I don't really like having unnecessary slipcovers, and none of the extra features really speak to me. If I'm going to spend extra money on this movie, I'd rather it just be $10 for the Shenlong shirt on top of the standard Blu-ray/DVD version's price.

I don't really want to splurge on Funimation's Collector's Edition if there really isn't anything to make it worth my while (one of the specials they haven't dubbed yet?), as I'm already buying the Japanese Collector's Edition for all it's extras. That said, I really like the design of discs in Funi's version. So I'm hopeful they are the same as the ones in the regular Blu-ray pack.

Goku been liked that since Boo arc. Nothing new. In BoG he treated Beerus like a joke. "I can go revert back to SSJ2 if you want".

I'm sticking with the Blu Ray Combo Pack but if Funi added in the Frieza alarm clock from the JP Collector's Edition to the Collector's Edition, I'd buy that edition in a heartbeat.

So this is the poster that will come with pre-orders of the special edition on CDJapan:

Apparently the Blu-Ray version, "includes also many other bonus." :P

How freakin' hard is it for me track down the actual theatrical poster?! I have two BOG posters, but no Revival of F ones. :|
