What I don't understand is why don't people bring up his victory over Goku in the Saiyan arc ? I always read how he never had a big win in the story yet he broke every bone in Goku's body and for some reason no one mentions it.

What facts do you guys like/dislike so far regarding the movie?

+ Goku and Vegeta training under Whis. Goku always trains with the best, thats why he's the best. And Vegeta gets his first sensei.
+ Goku and Vegeta not turning ssj. Its good for a change.
+ Vegeta's time to shine. Its now or never.
+ Whis and Beerus are Back.
+ Roshi, Krillin, Ten and Piccolo fight again since ever.
+ Cool new outfits (except Gohan).
+ Jaco (and Tights?!).
+ Freeza-sama. He's my favourite villain ever and if they had to bring a old one back, he's the only valid choice.
+ More action and More serious (Thank u Toriyama).
+ F song (the song by the girls seems cool too).
+ Toriyama's Hell.
+ So far, the overall quality seems better than BOG (Animation, Character models...).
+ Being the first Japanese film to open in 3D IMAX Digital Theaters.
+ Toei's budget and expecation to the film.

- Ash Ketchum syndrome. 6 years after Buu arc, Marron didn't grow up at all. And I doubt Trunks and Goten are different. There's nothing that me pisses off more than this.
- Even though I love Freeza, I would rather a new villain more than anything.
- Villain training to beat the good guy. First time this happens. (RIP Shounen Tropes).
- Freeza new form color scheme. Just like ssjgod, I expected the most simple thing, but I'm still not used to the colors. Even though I understand their meaning.
- Yamcha, Goten and Trunks could help the other Z Fighters.
- Mystic Gohan being treated like shit. I understand he doesn't care for fighting/training but doesn't mean he should be treated like that.
- More shitty CGI scenes. The worst thing in anime nowadays.
- Spoiled fanbase.
- The movie woun't be released here.

I think, so far thats it.

Because it isn't treated like a win in the series. Factually, platonically, it was a win, but it wasn't a very glorious or hyped up moment for Vegeta since he still ended up losing to the Earthlings as a whole, which ended up dictating the course of his entire life afterwards.

Except one of them coming from Asia while normal cartoons come from the West. But yes, there is the super class "cartoon" and then there is the sub class of cartoons which are cartoons from the west and the sub class anime which are cartoons from Asia.

Interesting. You view that as a negative? I feel like having Freeza turn around and suddenly decide to go train his ass off and fairly surpass Goku is one of the most interesting and original things to come out of recent Dragon Ball as a whole. It turns the shounen trope on it's head, but is that necessarily a bad thing?

But Vegeta deserves one more. That's really kind of a fact, it's okay for you to prefer Goku get the win, but if Vegeta's most glorious moment so far was having his pride shattered by a low class warrior and some Earthlings whom he mocked, which also happened farther back than Goku's most recent win, then... yeah.

As far as I could see, the reaction was "normal", lot of people seemed to like it, except for the fact that it is Freeza returning and Freeza's fourth form alternate skin.

I 100% agree with you and am VERY happy that it looks like he'll be the one to defeat Freeza.

Goku is super saiyan in that form and i dont see vegeta anywhere. More false hopes, Btw vegeta isnt really that popular in japan among dbz fans so i wouldnt put any hopes on him that he would be the one that defeats frieza.
