How come Tien and Yamcha are barely in the movies?

I've always wondered, how come Tien and Yamcha only appeared in movies 3 and 9? Well, I suppose Krillin appeared in more not only because he's Goku's best friend, but probably cause he's the strongest Earthling. But, how come Tien and Yamcha didn't appear in more movies?

Because movies were mostly cash grabs and fanservice, and those guys simply weren't in demand.
