What if the Saiyans had tails in Super?

Hey all!

I was just thinking what would happen if Goku and Vegeta had their tails right now. Would they turn blue when they went SSGSS, haha? If they did have their tails would that still allow a hypothetical SS4 (yes, yes, I know GT is not canon, but does that mean no SS4 concept in Dragon Ball canon at all)?

I really like how expressive their tails were and I do miss them.

I'd like them to go blue like the rest of their hair, but if I remember what they did in GT was Gokû's tail didn't change color when he went ssj1/2/3.

I would like the idea of having them again (never will happen, haha), but it resembled their difference from humans.

Adults look really awkward with the tails. It worked fine for kid Goku and also Vegeta when he was pretty much a dwarf, but that's it.

Also there may be a few inconsistencies in the franchise but Saiyan tails generally don't change colors when the character turns Super Saiyan. See GT and Bardock.

Toriyama's answer to that question is "The tail lets you gain tremendous strength instantly by transforming into a giant ape, but the risks are equally great- you'll lose your strength if it's squeezed. Once you're as powerful as Vegeta and Goku, the tail just gets in the way. It is thought that the bodies of Saiyans, who are a fighting species, decided that their tails are unnecessary appendages."

Out-of-universe, Toriyama likely didn't want to continue drawing it. He's pointed out in the past that he strongly disliked drawing tails, which is why he kept having Goku lose his during the course of Dragon Ball.

In-universe, Toriyama indicated that Saiya-jin, once they become strong enough, will simply no longer grow them as their bodies find it an unnecessary appendage. By the time that Vegeta lost his, he had reached/passed that threshold for growing it back, and Gohan did as well by the events of the Freeza arc.

I hated GT but from youtube clips didn't his tail change in SS3 just not SS1/2?

Bardocks doesn't change in EoB either right?

Wouldn't change my enjoyment of Super one way or the other if if tails were in Super. I'm kinda indifferent to them. If they were there, I'd be fine with. If not, I can live with it.

I´m very indiferent torwards them returning, it wouldn´t affect the plot in the slightless but, I do question for what purpose would they return?

According to GT, having a tail multiplies your strength. But... where exactly did they get that from?
