Re: FUNimation selling extra Dragon Boxes at Dallas Comic Co
The problem is I feel that FUNi actually came out and said why they jacked the prices. I mean everyone knew what they were doing but to actually come out and say it and prove everyone right is just well I dunno it is like the revelation of the survey all over again. Sure you are a business and make business decisions but at some point you got to think of your customers right? Someone on here is thinking of cancelling a future DB product that isn't good at all and they'll probably be a few more too.
Seems FUNi are punishing fans who want DB in 4x3! I feel like FUNi are two companies, one that solely run DB and the other every other property they have. I mean they treated they're latest FMA BD release with so much respect and I am sat here thinking is this the same company that treats DB the way it does? Bah. Totally understand everyone's frustrations.

I've already done just that... and that was before I saw your post, lol. I'll buy it second-hand... just like I've had to buy my Dragon Boxes.eledoremassis02 wrote:Sounds stupid but I feel like canceling my revival F bluray. I rather not support them if they pull this kind of stunt..

Re: FUNimation selling extra Dragon Boxes at Dallas Comic Co
Is FUNimation real? I just don't get this. How can a company do so much cool stuff, like release BoG and RF in theaters, and releasing cool things for other series, but just do all this stuff with Dragon Ball. Cropped DVD's, cropped Blu-rays, ignoring surveys, and now, scalping Dragon Boxes. I can't stand it. I just can't. I love Dragon Ball, and I'm so sad that Viz and FUNimation don't treat it with the respect it deserves. It really makes me feel like we'll never see a proper good release for the whole series, both, manga wise (all 42 volumes uncut and with a good translation), and anime wise (Dragon Boxes for DB, movies, and hell, even GT.) It's really sad that we have to face this truth.

Besides splitting up the series and censorship what has VIZ done badly to the series.ShadowDude112 wrote:Is FUNimation real? I just don't get this. Liberal and tarted-up translations, poor quality printing, binding and paper on collector releases and scatter-brained approach to releases to name a few. I'm not one of Viz's biggest critics, but there have been definite shortcomings.soppa saia people wrote: Besides splitting up the series and censorship what has VIZ done badly to the series.

Horrible way to treat the fans, as many have stated.
The only way Funimation can justify this is by putting every penny made by this "sale" towards continuing the level sets.

Wow this is ridiculous smh. I'm starting to think that funimation does not respect DB fans. Like you guys ignored the blu Ray survey in where the majority of people including myself voted 4:3 just to release the series again in 16:9 and now you're selling the Dragon Boxes at jacked up prices! They really dropped the ball with this one.

i broke out laughing at Funimations overly enthusiastic response:
FUNimation @FUNimation
@JGwinn1048 Actually, we just repriced these on-site to be comparable to current market prices. Some are even cheaper!

Another * next to Funimation. I keep saying this but Funi does not care about its fans and I'm glad to read the comments pointing out how disrespectful this is towards them.

I wouldn't consider giving your loyal fanbase the middle finger like that a laughing matter.Ree wrote:i broke out laughing at Funimations overly enthusiastic response:

If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out.

Box 4 is considerably cheaper. I would of just purchased boxes 2 and 4 then sold them for double the amount on ebay, my big middle finger to Funi for that.Ree wrote:i broke out laughing at Funimations overly enthusiastic response:

I'd argue that would be a bigger 'middle finger' to your fellow fans that to Funi.Saiyan_nation_ wrote:Box 4 is considerably cheaper. Re: FUNimation selling extra Dragon Boxes at Dallas Comic Co
Let's not forget. "What say you?! Know you now the one whom you show such insolence?!" Viz has never had a great translation. Only ranging from okay to good. The fact that they still use the H-word instead of Mr. Satan is just astounding. FUNimation got rid of it, but Viz is so set in their ways. I guarantee you, when the Full Color Cell and Buu arc make their way here whenever they do because Viz wants to release them as slowly as possible, his name will still say Hercule and so will anything with his name. So no Satan City. Nope. It will say Herculopolis. Mark my words, that's what it will say. I actually can't tell who's worse with DB. Viz or FUNimation. Because at least FUNimation doesn't censor names anymore or censor signs and such on their home releases.Blade wrote:Liberal and tarted-up translations, poor quality printing, binding and paper on collector releases and scatter-brained approach to releases to name a few. That overly formal speech pattern of Piccolo's was dropped fairly early.Let's not forget. "What say you?! Know you now the one whom you show such insolence?!"

Okay? I know. But it's still in their translation. They still use it to this day. I don't know why. but they do.ABED wrote:That overly formal speech pattern of Piccolo's was dropped fairly early.Let's not forget. "What say you?! Know you now the one whom you show such insolence?!"

Or you could support them on things you think are actually worthy of support, but not on others. So, I'm not telling you what to buy, but if you find no fault with their RoF BD itself, then you have no reason not to buy it. Same with most of their products.eledoremassis02 wrote:Sounds stupid but I feel like canceling my revival F bluray. I rather not support them if they pull this kind of stunt..

Re: FUNimation selling extra Dragon Boxes at Dallas Comic Co
I know. The one time we get a limited edition for Resurrection F, the only difference is the packaging and postcards. Where as with attack on Titan, they include a lots of other stuff in their limited edition that is worth the money. I feel like Funimation should've tried their hardest to get super a simulcast if they actually cared, but it could just be toei being a jerk. Anyways, as much as I like Funimation, I just feel that they shouldn't overprice dragon boxes to that extent. For example, $100 for Dragon Box 5. I can find it sealed for less on eBay.ShadowDude112 wrote:Is FUNimation real? I just don't get this. Re: FUNimation selling extra Dragon Boxes at Dallas Comic Co
Here's a question for you, how many more times does FUNi get to give loyal DBZ fans a massive middle finger and expect them to take take garbage like this lying down before they'd finally be justified in putting their foot down and saying "enough is enough, as a loyal fan I'm tired of being taken advantage of for my loyalty in some of the most appalling ways and am not going to tolerate it any longer"? I can't speak for others but for me personally FUNi selling DBOX's at scalper prices is that tipping point, and unless they issue a formal apology to the fans for this disgusting action they will NEVER see another cent of my money and if that means buying all of my FUNi stuff (including non DB suff) second hand from here on out, then so be it.Pokewhiz7 wrote:Or you could support them on things you think are actually worthy of support, but not on others.
