Ok that SUCKS for an opening, lol but as music itself, it's good, actually great as workout music. It is intense, I think it would feel great as the music for an actual scene instead of an opening.

Next up:

Ah yes I remember that track it made that scene in the dub which on that part I prefer over the japanese version.

H-holy cow...that's...actually...AWESOME!! I'll say this, people slam Sumitomo, and while I don't enjoy him as much as I enjoyed Team Faulconer...the guy's really got talent! Those violins...those choirs...those power up sounds...those...cellos (I think those are in there?). Awesome instrumentation! Sounds like something that would've been in Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories, and that game had an awesome OST.

Alright, next up: The Ebb and the Flow

Um, dude? I... Don't think you're doing it right. This thread is about giving your opinions on Dragon Ball music pieces, and not any other pieces of music from anything else.

With that said though, if I HAD to give an opinion on that piece you posted, it would be: ...ehh? While Avatar is a very good looking movie, overall for me it pretty damn forgettable for everything else about it, soundtrack included.

Next up, something that's actually RELEVANT to this thread: M322 Bumper Cars!

But I DID link a Dragon Ball Z music piece! Here, check it again!

You just didn't get the joke :P . Guess I should've used the Terminator 4 Salvation opening instead.

Yamamoto plagiarism aside, "The Ebb and the Flow" is actually a well-done piece. It's kind of reminiscent of Kikuchi's soundtrack for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. I like the violins that kick in right around 48 seconds and the calm melody that comes in a few seconds later. It's very theatrical.

Huh, that's a pretty interesting song. By itself, well...the instrumentation is a little weird though. It kind of sounds like a cross between a Dragon Quest song (with that rattling sound) and a Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door song (with sounds like that whoooooAAAAAAp sound that first plays at 0:22). But, it's a decent song...on it's own...

HOWEVER, it totally does NOT fit the scene it was placed too! If you'll remember, this starts playing at the exact moment where Piccolo sees Goku drive past him, and yells...

IS THAT A CHALLENGE?!?

Before immediately slamming on the gas pedal to catch up to them, resulting in him eventually getting into a car crash with Goku. And placed in that context, this piece is WAY too low energy. It sound like calm, relaxing elevator music, when instead it should sound frenetic, zany, and high energy. So overall, I prefer the way Team Faulconer scored that particular scene. For comparison, here's the two side-by-side...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtLsp2M_2sI&t=7m48s (Kikuchi Score)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vv9bJJpWkOE&t=5m27s (Team Faulconer Score)

Now then, for the next piece of music...
Shiyonasan wrote:Next: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 - Overture
This one I actually like. The guitar and synth piano voices, and also the bass, give it a really nice, uplifting feel. And, I like the other kind of guitar that gets brought in at 1:22, and also the way the song gets so energetic there. It sounds great!

My only qualm with the song is that it takes too long to get to that part at 1:22. Because of that, it gets slightly repetitive during the first part.

-----------------------------

Now then, my turn again! Now, this time you'll have to use your imagination for, because there's not really a video that has this next one in it's entirety. Not by itself anyway. So, imagine the first 24 seconds of this one...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlIv1xgDlWU (First 24 seconds)

But then instead of transitioning into what it usually transitions to, it transitions into THIS instead...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmXFtZ-jvzE

So basically, it's "Buu Anticipates", except it goes into a slower, sadder version of the Super Buu theme instead, done with piano instead of guitar, and with some jingles of the Fat Buu theme mixed in. And if you want to hear it along with the scene it was written to, here you go.

It's an okay track. I like the piano part, but the rest of the song drones on a little too much for my liking. Just my opinion.

Piece of Music : Limits of Life- Battle of Gods Ost
Opinion : Intense, somewhat dramatic and it fits perfectly in the scene where it was used

I truly believe there is not a greater soundtrack in the whole franchise, the choirs, the piano!, the apocalyptic french horn, oh God, please Sumi-kun, MORE OF THESE!. It looks like "Unfair" Sumitomo is coming back.

Next up, Goku's counterattack, one of my favorites.

Sigh...you know, I like Sumitomo. I really do, but I just felt that the score from RoF was so lackluster. It's all fine and gets the job done, but none of it is memorable. This is another forgettable piece in my opinion. Still, it's not bad. It's actually pretty good. The only bad piece of music I think, was that stupid choir when Goku kills Freeza.

That track is very uplifting! It feels like when someone is knocked down and is on the verge of giving up, that person thinks of everyone he is trying to save and gets this burst of energy to continue fighting, thus finishing the battle once and for all. I like Shuki Levi's range of musical scores!

Love hearing a full version of the Super preview song. It does a great job of getting you pumped for what's gonna happen next.

A brilliantly upbeat, soulful song that fits Dragon Ball quite well and really deserves a full version.

Mhm, you can imagine how pissed I was by its absence in the Kami Best release.
