Saiyans digesting food

I remember watching an episode where it was said that Saiyans did not have to digest food. The first episode that came to mind was Big Trouble, Little Trunks, but that wasn't it. I just can't remember which one, does anyone know?

The only thing I can remember is someone saying that dead people don't have to eat food (although Goku does it anyway when dead

). Also, Namekians only need to drink, says Dende.

I never remember hearing anything about Saiyans not needing to digest food at all. Are you sure about that? Maybe it was an expression meant as a joke (from the dub, I assume), considering how much Saiyans seem to be able to eat.

It'd have to be digested in some capacity, even if it's really different. It's not "how can they eat so much", but "where does it all go? :O".
... I don't remember the line either, but it sounds like something someone would say jokingly.

Isn't it from the world tournament, when they are eating before the match and somebody says something like ''you saiyans don't even have time to digest your food'' or something along those lines and Videl responds ''huh what's a saiyan''?

That might not be what he says, but I'm sure it's from that episode.

Actually, from what i've read - Krillin says "you saiya-jins and your stomachs!".

No where i the manga do i recall anything that states along the lines of "saiyans not digesting their food"..

King Kai says it while Bubbles and Gregory are shocked at the amount of food Goku's eating. English Episode 14: Legend of the Saiyans(first dub).

This is the same episode where King Kai tells Goku about Planet Vegita's Kami destroying it, so maybe we can't take what he says here as entirely accurate. I always thought that Saiya-jin had a different type of digestion than humans, converting food directly into energy instead of chemically digesting it.

King Kai's actual words were, when asked if eating so much would slow Goku down, "No, it makes him faster. He doesn't even have to digest". So, it's possible he's merely referring to dead people, and not Saiya-jin.

Holy crap, man.

First, to do that would require antimatter.

Second, that is an unholy amount of energy. Let's say, the Saiyan eats one kilogram of food (about 2.2 pounds).

If that mass is converted straight into energy, that's 9x10^16 joules! That's the same amont of energy a hydrogen bomb generates when it detonates.

Then again, that energy output doesn't seem too unrealistic, when you consider these guys can blow up a planet with the energy stored in their pinky finger...

That energy output is immediate, all 9x10^16 joules at once. A Saiyan would contain that energy in the same way the casing of an H-Bomb contains its explosion.

Which is to say, the very atoms that make up the Saiyan's body will be torn apart into their subatomic particles.
