The original DBox footage may have been a bit too red, but yours looks just dull. And what you've done with the lines... it looks too uneven, as thejeremymenace said. It's particularly jarring in faces. However, if you like your "enigmodifications", it's fine for you though.
I'd personally advise you to calm down a bit. Things like "you've really got to establish your sanity" and "Ajay doesn't want me spreading the cancer" don't sound too nice. It seems to me that you don't take it well when people don't agree with you.

Where? I don't see any problem with contrast and saturation.
The colors on the Level Set are noticeably darker, and it results in crushed blacks and detail in darker areas becoming more obscured. And it can't be fixed by simply turning up the TV's brightness

the crushed blacks could be to do with funimation's film print of DBZ since they've never done a release that didn't have crushed blacks

If anyone does actually wanna know how I do my colour correction, let me know through a PM.
It doesn't require photoshop, after effects, virtual dub or whatever else you guys usually do

Okay, so here are the two video examples, from where the screenshots were taken. They're 140MB and 120MB, respectively. They're both only 55 seconds long.

Just watch these without pausing on frames. Just watch it as though you'd be watching them for real

Now that I've watched these on my desktop monitor, I have to say I'm not really a fan of the upscaling and edge enhancement. It really distorts the picture in ways that would prevent calling this a "remaster".

No, why would it? It's fiction. The strength of the characters is not possible to reach in reality.
I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

okay guys, enough is enough, my confidence in upscaling and filtering dvds has been shattered by the DBZ internet community.....I'll just wait until the day comes when I can work with the film prints

I actually kinda like your colour correction, though it's going a little overboard, but all your other filtering seems to be hurting the image a lot more than it helps.

I agree - keep working on color correction! It's not bad except for the sky which should be a greenish blue instead of pure blue.

Original Film Transfer by Kei17

Enigmo's Remaster of the Film Transfer

Yeah...since VegettoEX locked the thread, you can, instead, express your disgust of my remastering here... (edit: people seem to have sensed 0% of the 90% sarcasm in this...)

Can you cut it out? People were only giving you their honest opinion and you decided to act all pompous about it and now you're all sad about it.

Sorry man if people are being too hard on you. You're remasters aren't horrible and there are improvements to be made, but they have potential. Just don't act so arrogant about it so much. Other than that, you're remasters are ok :D

you should be grateful because it's with the others opinions and criticized that we progress ;)
you talk like if you are better than kei17.
You like your "remaster" more than kei's remaster it's great for you, kei will not share with you in any case so it is cool for you :)
i don't like people who speak as if they are the better.
Like in dragon ball spirit we allways find someone better than us and this is the source of progress.

why be so hateful? because people don't pay you for your color correction method? (like you said me by pm)

Bro...what on earth are you talking about? How in Kami's name did you infer me considering myself better than Kei??? I get if you think I'm better than Kei, but where exactly did I even suggest my skills are better than Kei's? I considered Kei's video a "film transfer", not a remaster, thus titling it "Original film transfer by Kei17"....If I was to title it like "Kei17's remaster" vs "Enigmo's Remaster" then you could say I was suggesting I am competing with him. I was not, one bit, competing with him lol, instead I consider what I done to be working WITH him, as he was the one who transferred it, and I did the post-processing... I'm not going to say anything rude to you, despite you making these false accusations, because I'm Enigmo. But please, think carefully next time before throwing false accusations.

man....you messaged me "enigmo-sama, i would like to know your colour correction method" and I said "okay sure but you've gotta pay for it"... again, i'm not the one who's being hostile at all, but your message is exactly that.

Exacto.

This egotistical attitude he's having is kind of unwelcome because he's trying to shove it on everyone's face with "my version looks better than the original". I get that he likes his own work but come on, give it a break. :|

Well since this is about fan remasters, I was wondering would it be possible for someone to be able to remaster footage just like Funimation did for the level sets? I'm not sure what programs or equiment they used but it would be amazing if someone finished up where Funimation left off.

We know exactly which product(s) they used! :)

It's not something that Joe Schmoe on the Internet can do with free or even pirated software.

i do think it'd be possible for a fan to do the level sets if they had the film tapes in possession and could get through the stage of transferring the film
