It wasn't? Holy crap, you're right! I guess that I watched both at the same time, but Dragon Ball did come first. Crappy memory for the loss.

How long have you been involved with this series?

Um... 2001, I think it was? Maybe 2002... I know it started with the dub Cell Saga on Channel Ten's Cheez TV. I'd been watching Pokemon for a few years at that point and other people had also gotten into DBZ.

Of course, I ignored this "new thing" that everyone else was into, but I happened to get into it during a holiday break while I had extra time and didn't bother switching the TV off after Pokemon. Funnily enough, by the time I was back at school, suddenly nobody seemed to care about DBZ anymore. XD;;

How did it begin?

Well as I said, I was a fan of Pokemon and DBZ was airing in the time slot right after Pokemon, so I just started watching it.

How did it affect your lifestyle?

Well, Budokai 1 was the main reason I got my PS2 (And to this day, the only non DB game I have is a One Piece one I stopped playing because of 4Kids' voices. XD), which was also my first DVD player (it's still our only DVD player, unless you count the computer. o.o). My first DVDs were also DB related. (The Path to Power, Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan and DBGT Vol 4 were my first DVDs.)

These DVDs were what introduced me to the concept of watching anime in Japanese. (Something I have done with many series now)

Along with Pokemon (Hmm, I think Digimon helped too...), it got me into anime and helped me become who I am today.

How important is Dragonball to you?

It kinda varies, I must say, I do love DB. But exactly how important it is at times fluctuates. Sometimes I need it and sometimes it's kinda just... There... Although, I wouldn't be able to imagine my life with it gone.

Will you forever continue to be a die-hard fan of this huge compilation of a series?

Yes. Just like how I continue to watch new episodes of Pokemon and buy new games, it is exactly the same with DB. I can't imagine myself EVER drifting away from Mr. Toriyama's epic story. :D

How long have you been involved with this series?

Since 1996, I was 8

How did it begin?

I remember watching the Raditz fight on TV and then I remember eventually trying to buy the tape fansub and got a tracking nightmare VHS fansub of Goku and Yajirobe filler from DragonBall. Yeah, that threw me off of continuity big time. Goku gets turned into a kid again? Why the fu--oh wait...

How did it affect your lifestyle?

It made sure that I was constantly broke and made me a few good friends.

How important is Dragonball to you?

It's one of the most important in my life. Second only to sex. But if DragonBall was a woman, I'd let her have her way with me.

Will you forever continue to be a die-hard fan of this huge compilation of a series?

I have seen how many little details I forget from the series. Going back and refreshing my memory every other year or so is an awesome experience. Theres nothing like going DragonBall free for a while and then heavily watching/reading it all over again. I got my first job just to get enough dough to buy Final Bout...yeah back when it was the game to have...and like $200. Those were the days...

About since 2003/4/5, I can't remember well...
How did it begin?
I was watching Kids Central and they said something about DBZ, interested, I decided to watch it. It was episode 1 and I got hooked after watching it.
How did it affect your lifestyle?
I got into anime, feel like learning Japanese and shout about random moves, characters names and quotes from the show.
How important is Dragonball to you?
VERY MUCH, I love it.
Will you forever continue to be a die-hard fan of this huge compilation of a series?
Mostly likey. I just hope it stays the way I like it now. It is awesome! :)

How long have you been involved in the series?

First saw at least the end of an episode of Dragonball in 95 or so really early in the morning. I was 5, and didn't care what it was. In 1996 or so (I was 6) I saw some a Namek Saga episode, where Vegeta was fighting Zarbon. But I didn't really become a fan until it started up on Cartoon Network, where I got to see all of the Namek and Saiyan Sagas.

How did it begin?

I was just flipping through whatever was on on a Sunday afternoon. And on WB I caught that Vegeta/Zarbon fight. I watched until the end of the Namek Saga, and got pissed the next Sunday, because they didn't continue it, and I wanted to see Goku turn into the "Super Saiyan" thingy that Vegeta was freaking out about. Instead I got to watch the first episode of the Tree of Might "Trilogy" lol. It was boring, and I didn't start watching more until I got Cartoon Network, when it first started showing. I saw all of the episodes of the first Sagas. And I got even more into it, when a friend from school (who just in moved from Mexico) started talking about it, and about Super Saiyan, and Super Saiyan 3, and 4. I was like.... DAMN! lol. I got a bunch of Super Battle Collection toys, and watched a few episodes in Spanish (whenever they came on, but the only one I got to see that wasn't from the Saiyan/Namek Sagas was the one where you first see Mecha Frieza. That was pretty freaky for me lol). And then I watched from the start of Season 3, and never missed an episode until right after Cell was killed. Then I had to move, and I didn't have cable or anything, so I went online and looked (mostly just at pictures cause they're so fucking cool lol, I have this huge binder of shit I printed out lol) for episodes and information. I could never figure out how to download the episodes (cause I was like 11 or so) so I just read all of the episode summaries up to GT. But once I found out that the closest Wal-Mart had vhs tapes, I was all over that shit lol.

How did it affect your life style?

I don't want to say for the worst, but it's made me a damn nerd lol. I tell people I like DBZ, they're like "errmm...?". But oh well, I enjoy it whenever I can, and a lot of stuff I like was influenced by my like for DBZ in some way or another.

How important is Dragonball to you?

Very! I think a big chunk of my life would be gone without it, so it has a great deal of importance and significance. I have no idea what I would be like without DBZ. And it influences my friends as well, I wouldn't have some of the friends I have if they didn't like DBZ as well.

Will you forever continue to be a die-hard fan of this huge compilation of a series?

Yes! Forever is an understatement! I'll be watching DBZ from my deathbed!

How long have you been involved in the series?

Hmm, I was introduced to it by my friends when it was first airing on Cartoon Network, which would've been the summer of '97 or '98...so, 9 or 10 years, I guess? Jeez.

How did it begin?

As I said, my friends introduced me, and I'd never seen anything like it before. Although I had NO idea what was going on, by the end of that week visiting friends, I was hooked, and only got more into the show once the "3rd Season" started. Once I went to college in the fall of 2000, I started meeting up with other DBZ fans, getting ahold of the subbed version during, and exploring anime in general.

How did it affect your life style?

Hmm, I dunno. It didn't make me any nerdier than I already was, and if anything it provided a refuge during a couple really awful transition years of my life. All in all, I don't think it changed my lifestyle, but it certainly impacted my life.

How important is Dragonball to you?

Very. I'm an aspiring writer, and I have started to really hope no one makes a (live-action) Dragonball movie, so that in 10 years or so when I've got some success, I can swoop in and pull a Peter Jackson. :P

Will you forever continue to be a die-hard fan of this huge compilation of a series?

After a decade of interest, though it's been through cycles of intensity, I can't really see a point where I won't consider myself a HUGE fan of Dragonball.

How long have you been involved with this series?

Around 1998 or so.

How did it begin?

I came home from school, flipped to Cartoon Network, and my first episode just so happened to be "Arrival."

How did it affect your lifestyle?

I tried to learn Japanese. Unfortunately, I didn't attain any modicum of fluency, although it's possible that my attempt is the reason why I don't find kun readings to be that hard (I'm a native speaker of Chinese).

How important is Dragonball to you?

It's the first anime whose name I remember.

Will you forever continue to be a die-hard fan of this huge compilation of a series?

For the reason given above, yes.

How long have you been involved with this series?
>Since 1997, when I saw my very first episode. So, about 10 years now.

How did it begin?
>My younger brother watched DBZ everyday (I think it used to come on around 5pm or 6pm). He and a friend tried to get me to watch it all the time, claiming that it's the best "cartoon" they've ever seen. One day I finally sat down, out of boredom, and watch my first episode. It was the episode where Frieza stabs Kuririn with his horn and Gohan beats the shit out of him. Needless to say, I was amazed that such a "cartoon" existed. I was hooked from then on.

How did it affect your lifestyle?
>I HAD to watch it everyday. No matter where I was, or what I was doing, I never missed an episode. I was so into it, I started doing research on the internet, trying to find out as much info as I could about it. It was life.

How important is Dragonball to you?
>Pretty damn important. :P It's the first thing I turned to when I feel like escaping reality.

How long have you been involved with this series?
Since whenever FOX started airing it at, like, 6 AM.(The first episode I saw was the actual first episode of DBZ.)
How did it begin?
I stayed over at my Grandmothers house that night. And stayed up all night(It was the first time I had done that.) And after watching about 2 hours of boring Weight Loss Infomercials, I decided to see what else was on, and I came across a cartoon on FOX.(That was DBZ)And I loved it. It wasn't until the show started airing on Toonami, though until I really got into it.

How did it affect your lifestyle?
Without it I would not be here
I would not be into anime
I would not be taking Japanese right now
I would not be moving to Japan for awhile after college
I would not want to become I cartoonist when I get older.
How important is Dragonball to you?
Really important. It is always number one on my top anime.(DB series, Naruto, One Piece/Bleach[Haven't watched much of either])

Will you forever continue to be a die-hard fan of this huge compilation of a series?
What kind of a question is that? Of course I will! :D

How long have you been involved with this series?
Since 1996, when I was in 5th grade.

How did it begin?

Seeing the power-ups for the first time absolutely sent goosebumps down my back.

How did it affect your lifestyle?
Not much, it was and still is a big interest of mine. I never let it interfere with my social life. Though during its hey day of its popularity (around 97-02) my friends and I would watch and talk about it quite a bit. It it did inspire to make a website about it between (01'- 04').

How important is Dragonball to you?
In terms of comparing it to friends, family, and religion, it would be a fraction of a percent. As as far a show that really pumps me up for a good adrenline boost and a little motivation when I'm doing cardio or pumping iron, I abolutely adore it.

Will you forever continue to be a die-hard fan of this huge compilation of a series?

Yes, I'm pretty sure I will. I've always been sort of a "gym rat", so the dragonball/z/gt always gives some excitement when I'm not having my best days. It also sends a positive message to continue to improve yourself, whether physically or mentally.

Not to mention for the simple reasons that the show simply kicks ass. Its pure action packed excitement that holds well to the test of time.

How long have you been involved with this series?
Since 1999.

How did it begin?
When my cousin advised me to start watching it on CN.

How did it affect your lifestyle?
Well, it was one of the things that inspired me to work out regularly. It also helped to imbue me with self-reliance, and a sense of pride.

How important is Dragonball to you?
Back when I first started watching, I was OBSESSED. DBZ was all I thought and talked about. Then I woke up and realized that it was extremely unhealthy and a major waste of time and energy to be so obsessed with a TV show (also people began to think I was a one-note guy). So I leveled off, reassessed myself, and focused on other things.

I'm not saying DBZ sucks and that it ruined my life; I was just a very obsessive person in my younger years and DBZ happened to be one of the things I latched onto. I still love the show, play the games, and whatnot, but I keep everything in perspective, now. It is, after all, just a manga and a TV show.

Will you forever continue to be a die-hard fan of this huge compilation of a series?
Most likely. Sometimes I think I'll grow out of it. Then other times, I'm absolutely sure that I'll always have room in my heart for Goku and pals. Who knows? Maybe even my kids will enjoy it, someday.
