Actually, it's the exact opposite of that. The sentence should read:TheMajinRedComet wrote:Because grain is a easy thing to fix, but film damage isnt.
"Because grain is a cheap thing to fix, but film damage isnt."
It is easier to just run some DVNR filters; however, removing grain without distorting the material is extremely difficult, if not impossible. Cleaning film damage is a long and expensive process, but otherwise not that hard to do while keeping the integrity of the material (I'm sure most people cold do it with photoshop if they wanted).

What exactly do you mean by confirm those screens? They're real, if that's what you're asking, but somewhat misleading. In scenes where the camera is purpsosefully shaking (like say from a character powering-up) fine black lines will occasionaly fade in and out, as in the pictures above. They only dissapear for a fraction of a second, but it is noticeable when it happens repeatedly.Chaotic Strike wrote:meh thats terrible can someone confirm those screen It would be appreciated as I may not buy any of these sets if they look like that.
Or when somebody purposely watches for them so they can find something to bitch about.Deus ex Machina wrote: They only dissapear for a fraction of a second, but it is noticeable when it happens repeatedly.

I would recommend renting it first in any case, especially if that kind of thing will influence your decision to buy it. The video quality does suffer from a few problems from time to time, its up to you to decide whether it's worth buying anyways.Chaotic Strike wrote:k thanks if they stayed that way for more than 2 secs I wouldnt even bother buying those sets but still looking like a rent right now.

Actually, I stumbled upon this when I was actually starting to enjoy the set. I didn't even know this kind of thing could happen, y'know?Deus ex Machina wrote:Or when somebody purposely watches for them so they can find something to bitch about.
But it is noticeable when these scenes occur and its quite bothersome.
EDIT: Might I add that the Oni-guy screencap is from a shot where his face is only visible for a few frames and I don't mean it's a short shot. I mean, the blurring completely ruins his face to the point where it can only be seen for a few frames.

I noticed the same things in other episodes as well, just through normal viewing. They did too much noise reduction in some cases and didn't bother to watch their own encodes before shipping it out the door. Otherwise, this type of stuff shouldn't have happened.Brad Redfield wrote:Actually, I stumbled upon this when I was actually starting to enjoy the set. God, it's painfully apparent now that they either didn't check for any possible screw-ups at all, or just scrubbed along the collective timeline and said, "that looks good." Who would have guessed that a professional dubbing company could be so outrageously careless? I am immediately reminded of Photoshop beginners that filter-whore their graphics and then boast about how skilled they are.

Lol! Fabulous choice of words. I'll agree it is very lazy and sloppy "remastering" but I still think it's worth the money.Acid_Reign wrote:God, it's painfully apparent now that they either didn't check for any possible screw-ups at all, or just scrubbed along the collective timeline and said, "that looks good."
